Can you see, that is why it is pertinent to reply some comments with caution. Many elders are in this forum.
As for your age sir, that is the age of my second daughter.
I come in peace.

Do you know how many chewing gums I've swallowed in this life?

Bros you took me down memory lane (2002-2009)
I used to buy this biscuit brands steady like almost everyday!
My favorite was pepper snacks or the purple Yale one. It was N5 so I'll buy like 4 and fill my pockets with it and be chewing small as I trek from Ogba bus stop to my house on Aina street along Iju road.
Sometimes I'll buy bread N15 or N10 and pour one or two of them.inside and be enjoying my meal with a sachet of pure water. In those days, with just N100 yiu could get a decent meal of Rice or bread and Beans or even Yam and Beans and you'll be so full!!!

I could go on and on but lemme reserve space for others too

Chewing gum was not allowed during classes but you can have it during break or on your way home.

Also, my parents used biscuits as reward and didn't mind us chewing gum.

We should be around the same age. I finished primary school in 1983, and started my first form in 1983/84 calender year. I remember learning of the coup on December 31st, 1983.

I had to repeat form 1 when I transferred to a private secondary school. I was the last Form 5 set. I'm certain you were. I finished in 1989.

Those are millennium biscuits. Biscuits of the 80s and 90s are Nasco biscuits, Temitope biscuits and Okin biscuits. That's when biscuits had quality. Good old days

That wasn't Speedy which was a Yale brand biscuit.
I'm biscuit buff. What was common in the 80s was Okin
Shortcake
Oxford Cabin
Nasco biscuits
Those were the main brands

Okin the round model and shortcake was 10 Kobo for one. While the rest were slightly expensive.

Back then you could buy a family loaf for N1and our now popular Agege bread for 50 Kobo.

De Facto bread was about N10 or N20 or thereabouts.
The young ones here don miss Gan!!

I hated both the blowing and popping noise sound especially that sound till date. What I do is I buy Robots or Sumal brand of chewing gum just to read the current affairs questions and answers in them. Once the sugar taste is out
I simply throw it away. But I was also a fan of Chin Chin and Puff puff, buns and Akara.

Not anymore
At that time flour was cheap as such the producers could lavish on quality and still get their ROI in a short time unlike now.
