Truth is most often very ugly.
It is mostly overrated.
People lie and say they value honesty. And then when they hear the truth, they get angry at the one who told them.

Before I got married, I dated this Jamaican woman that I wasn't really into but she used to give very good nacks and I liked the way she talked. I'm that kind of guy that finds it difficult to pretend. Women date me because they like me and not because I sold myself to them. One day she asked me how come I don't tell her I love her etc? I told her that I don't feel like saying stuff like that. She basically said even if I lie to her, just to make her feel good, it's better than nothing or making no effort. Well, that's women for you. Some women will interpret a man lying (or overselling himself as you say) as him "making an effort" to impress her, the same way a man spending money he has not got is also "making an effort" to impress her too.

When you tell a woman the truth,she automatically feels it’s a lie but when you tell her a lie that’s when she believes it more..

Men lies a lot to assist them to have their ways and also to manipulate or man-over things to their gain

I naturally don't admire people who aren't genuine in relationships

Lies happen mostly because of short term interests mostly for sexual reasons. A girl HE really loves knows his shortcomings though many at times, guys have been known to later catch feelings for a girl they lied to just to get in her pants. The problem here is that our many of our women are too materialistic, gullible and may I add lazy. Maybe it's their upbringing but making it obvious that money is your mumu button instead of true love, hardwork, compassion etc makes a naturally Hot guy set aside as much as possible for a covert operation of getting into a lady's pants. Then, there are the asxholes of both sexes. Why do they lie unprovoked
