Cadbury 14.5 Billion naira half year pre tax profit. Best half year result since 2020 (even in dollar terms at official exchange rate).

Dont forget they are raising funds. It may affect their profit.
How will raising fund affect profit?
Or it should rather be another reason to accumulate the shares?

I sold my initial holding at circa N70 after about 100% appreciation. I re-entered a few days ago at 79, now about 80% up. I want to leave it to see what the chinkos will do. It's only a few units anyway.
You have gained though you lost some modest potential compounding profit.

Without including fees and commissions, let's say you bought 10,000 units at N35 for N350,000 and sold all at N70 to make N700,000 (profit of N350,000) and assuming you sell now after it has risen from N79 to ~N150 (profit of 1.5m - 790k = 710k), your total profit will be 1.06m.
If you had left it since then and decide to sell today at the current rate of ~ N150 you would have sold the same 10,000 for N1.5m making a profit of N1.15m
Theoretically speaking you would have earned extra of ~ N100,000 + two dividend payments (depending on when you sold)
Now scale that to tens of thousands of units.
This is a classic example of timing vs time in grin or maybe a form of risk management wink

Consumer stocks doing great as that's where Nigerians are spending 60-70% of income.

If not economic frustration leading to consuming more alcohol, its families spending so much on groceries above every other thing else.

Socio-economic engineering 🤝 wealth creation.

You are correct, but the money was equally working during the intervening period grin. I don't have the exact figures, but I may have doubled it.

When we tell inexperienced investors to invest in fundamentals, companies like WAPCO na the case study.

High barriers to industry entry. Oligopolistic market dynamics with demonstrated pricing power. The most efficiently managed company in the sector. A growth story as far as the eye can see, with government infrastructure investment tailwind necessary for $1 trillion economy. Very shareholder friendly.

WAPCO doing the Lords Work ,Carrying us to where we no know. grin

I just had my own experience yesterday. Almost 3million naira is hanging from unexecuted orders. Please did your own money later reflect? Was it finally resolved and how did you about it? I have sent messages to support but no reply.
My advise to anyone here is this: don't use any of this NYSE/USD focused apps for NGX.
For seamless NGX experience, we have enough brokers. Open an account with them you'd be better off.

@essentialone1 Thanks for pointing this out. The market cap column currently only updates after trading hours that’s how NGX designed it for now...
I’ve raised the issue with their team, and they’re in talks with their devs to see if real-time updates can be enabled during trading. Fingers crossed they sort it soon… NGX dey fall my hand sometimes.
Appreciate your usual feedback as always, thank you!
Kudos. You're not only providing up-to-date data, you're also helping NGX to improve their output.

No dey look that side. What interest me the most in the result is that Ote$ now owns 31% stake in FIrst bank as against 20% of last year.
If you add the 25% that is on the way to him, he would be owning like 56%. When you now add the one that will come by way of private placement, then we start our journey.

I think the Barbican units of share is not for him; but he is still the highest individual shareholders through direct and indirect holdings.
