AIICO Insurance Plc Why? One of the most established players with strong life insurance penetration and solid investment assets. Digital positioning: Already investing in tech and innovation. Capital base: Better positioned to meet stricter capital requirements. AXA Mansard Why? Backed by AXA Group (global strength), giving it strong governance and access to capital. Strong in health and general insurance, which are expected to grow with reforms encouraging wider coverage. Corporate clientele will favor stable, compliant insurers. Custodian Investment Plc Why? Strong balance sheet and diversified insurance portfolio (life, general, pensions). Efficiency and corporate governance gives it a competitive edge in the post-reform market. Likely to benefit from mergers and acquisitions of weaker players. NEM Insurance Why? Known for good underwriting discipline and profitability. Strong general insurance arm and good distribution network. May benefit from increased trust and market expansion post-reform. If you’re investing, AIICO, AXA Mansard, NEM and Custodian should be your first watchlist stocks jckgroup1:The Act raises the minimum capital requirements significantly: Non‑life insurers: from ₦3 bn → ₦15 bn Life insurers: from ₦2 bn → ₦10 bn Reinsurers: from ₦10 bn → ₦35 bn This will prompt a wave of capital injections—estimated at around ₦600 bn industry-wide—to meet compliance. It will likely trigger mergers, acquisitions, and industry consolidation, favoring insurers with stronger balance sheets |

Got AIICO at 1.67 last month. Was getting frustrated with the slow pace in appreciation until of recent. Also got Universal Insurance 3 weeks ago based on its financial statements and outlook. I think Universal Insurance is an undervalued stock. Can some of the gurus here help us dissect Universal Insurance please? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Oyindamolah: 2:03pm On Aug 05, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:Saying AIICO can never perform for shareholders based on ₦40bn OS ignores its life insurance dominance, asset strength, strategic patience, and long-term shareholder value delivery. Not every player needs to sprint. Some build empires with slow, deliberate moves — and that’s AIICO’s playbook |

Oyindamolah:if you are looking for fast quick value..look for the candidates to be acquired. Most likely the Acquirers will pay a premium on the book value to acquire them then sell quick |

jckgroup1:AXA Mansard is one of the best dividend paying Insurance companies. Custodian is another good one You can hardly go wrong with consistent dividend paying companies.

Itzlinda:Don't be angry with yourself. You should be happy. Normally, you will always discover what you are interested in. Just know that it's when you decided to look at another way apart from crypto that is why you get in here. It's a case of no interest, no findings! I advise you to keep learning, though stocks and crypto differ, but they share some similarities, particularly in terms of price movement. It can either be up or down, and capital and returns are not guaranteed. The time you came to the market is bullish, but know for sure that the bear will also surface at some point in time. That is the circle of the stock market. Have a defined objective and your plan should be to find how to navigate and win during the bull and the bears, don't also forget 1. No man can time the market guru or newbie - the market has a mind of its own 2. Try as much as possible to control these two emotions: FEAR and GREED. Fear will make you lose the money you would have made by not allowing you to take the calculated risk, while Greed will make you lose the money you already made by making you stay longer than necessary. Welcome onboard. I wish you a bullish and green portfolio. |
