I bought BUA cement at 170 I diversified my share into DS, BUA CEMENT, and Jaiz bank. Not interested in anything insurance, interest-based bank/financial services, Guinness or alcohol industries, and hotel as well. Wanna pump some other 500k, but I'm holding on for now. I need to learn a lot. I'm not rushing.. Itzlinda: |

The bids on AIICO is speaking louder than words. ![]() My brother from the street would have enjoyed a deserving ROI and maybe change his mob after years of loyalty to the stock. ![]() |

hallysonia:Kudos.! Everybody here was once a learner. It is also nice to see your determination and resolve to patronize and/or avoid some stocks. But this one principle is key to making money in the stocks market: just follow the money. You will appreciate this advice as you learn and understand more about the stocks market. Wish you all the best |

hallysonia:You probably buy because the price was going up. My advice is that you learn how to value a stock(FA) and or TA. You should know the reason why you are buying. |

hallysonia:Is like you're a Muslim? If you're for dividend and you're a long term investor, you may go for Dangote Cement; Dangote Cement is the industry leader for cement companies and it makes more profit and pay better dividend than BUA cement. |

Streetinvestor2:After reviewing some of the so-called "weak" insurance companies, such as Veritas Kapital, I noticed a trend: while financial performance (particularly return on assets) may be poor, many of these firms are not highly leveraged. In my view, leverage not poor ROA alone is the key determinant of whether an insurance company is likely to exit the market during this recapitalisation phase. High leverage limits the ability to raise fresh capital and makes such firms unattractive for acquisition. These are the true high-risk candidates. By contrast, underperforming companies with large asset bases and modest leverage could be prime targets for acquisition or merger, especially by firms looking to scale operations quickly. Why? Because: Acquiring such a company offers instant access to a client base and market presence. It may be preferable to raising capital from scratch, particularly when speed matters. A stronger balance sheet can be retooled, but client lists and licenses are harder to replicate. Raising capital is relatively straightforward, especially for well-run companies. What’s harder is growing a scalable client base without diluting return on assets. Happy to know why you think otherwise. |
