Wow! Such a great motivation. When I see posts like this, the first thing that comes to my mind is "God Abeg!". Not out of intimidation, but a reminder of the fact that I still have a long way to go with my 600k something portfolio if I truly want to retire comfortably by 45. I know the journey ahead might not be easy, but I hope to join in the success story someday. And thanks to those who drop great picks, I appreciate it.
You see that your 600k can become 1.6b if you learn this game and take things seriously. Just exercise some Patience based on KNOWLEDGE

If you want to post 2022 outdated news about Ellah Lake. At least, you should let people know whether the news is up-to-date or not.

Anyway, the latest EGM meeting is here, and it may be a good one. What do I know? I'm just a newbie, who does want to be drived by noise.

The hull was built in south korea, only the six topside modules were fabricated in Nigeria, the hull was shipped.

The biggest FPSO is located in Nigeria and Total energies owns it. It was constructed by Samsung Heavy Industries and the hull was fabricated here in Nigeria by Ladol shipyard. This is what Nigeria government is trying to achieve with NNPC,Stena and Caverton partnership so that boats,Ships, FPSO and other marine structures could be constructed in Nigeria instead. grin grin grin

How I wish I've known this platform before now. Many thanks to the gurus in the house who have continued to drop tips and infos, without strings attached. My financial literacy is gradually improving.

I dont have a way to reach them.

The thing is that a lot of the members from SMN are a lot older and richer. As such they may not see the need for a web forum as much as they did 15 years ago.

SMN was life changing for a lot of us, myself inclusive. However whats the incentive for a lot of the OGs to be on a web forum right now. I know horlads, oga pegi and a few of the OGs are on there but due to their much busier schedules they may not be so active

My post was just a way of thinking aloud. Just wondering if the persons lined up can really be up to mischief, as insinuated by some.

Wow! Thanks for sharing. Please can you also share what platforms you have been using to invest over the years?

Mankind2024:
Investment Marathon: Reaching Highs in NGX, NYSE & Crypto.
When I was growing up, common sayings in Shagamu, and among the Yorubas were 'The journey of a thousand miles begins with a step,' 'You can take a horse to the river but can't force it to drink,' and 'Think and grow rich.' These sayings don't fully align with today's reality. Now we know the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first taken step. We can also force a horse to drink water by feeding it with concentrated salt to cause thirst. Growing rich involves thinking, continuous learning, DOING, and growing rich.
On Nairaland NSEMPA forum of today, many investors aren't proud of their wins in a faceless forum; rather, the JIJO (Jump In, Jump Out) traders are the ones celebrating their wins. This norm shouldn't continue. I'd rather share my investment successes and mistakes to celebrate personal milestones and encourage others that long-term investing is key to building generational wealth, after all, no one knows me. Sharing milestones by investors on a faceless forum outweighs perceived disadvantages.

On this note, I'm proud of my long-term investments:
- NGX portfolio with N170M CAPITAL appreciation within 6 weeks in blue-chip companies in the ongoing rally.
- NYSE $11k(N19.5M) gain in my foreign portfolio despite the selloff seen 2 weeks ago
- N48M($32K) returns on CAPITAL in cryptos and digital assets YTD in the ongoing crypto rally.

These wins came through learning, discipline, perseverance, steadfastness, and prayers. I believe in taking care of my young and future self and family while aiming for generational wealth. Sharing investment milestones boosts perseverance in holding assets and helps achieve SMART goals. I'd say I've been favoured in my personal finance and investment journey. I hope to share hitting the US$1M goal one day.
Once again, investment is a marathon while short-term trading is a sprint. Wishing you all a fruitful H2, 2025.

As an investor the older you are the richer you should be due to compounding.

N100 million at an average return of 15% will grow to over N800 million in 15 years due to compounding .

The N100 million will grow to over N1.5 billion in 15 years if compounded at 20%

I know a lot of them personally. Some have become like brothers to me.

In fact the very idea of restarting the forum started with me and another SMN member sitting together in a garden just gisting. The name ngxforum was suggested by another SMN member. Another one actually offered me a domain they owned and were not using.

A beautiful new week my people in the insurance.

Last we week we witness an average rise in the share price of insurance stocks as a result of the bill act signed by Mr president.

The news is still fresh on the ears of Nigerians.
Only the insiders, institutional investors were able to get the shares last week.

This week Nigerians are queing to get their own shares.Insurance stocks has up to 80% upward movement before recapitalization.

Enjoy a new week of success

Our gross FX reserves are growing and currently at $39.54 Billion. If we can get it to cross $45 Billion by the end of this year despite the relatively lower oil prices and high external debt servicing (including the $1.2 Billion Eurobond repayment in November), I would be very confident in the naira going into next year.

Keep eyes on MB,the more the rise the better for Royalex.

Aiico an MB a barometer to Royalex
Let's enjoy as we witness the magic this week.

Is Mutual Benefit Assurance a good buy at N2.92?

On March 20, 2025, the Nigerian Exchange Limited (NGX) lifted the suspension imposed on the company since July 8, 2024, following its failure to submit financial accounts promptly.

The company’s Q22025 revealed that it grew its turnover from N28,493,656 in 2024 to N41,195,472 in the corresponding period in 2025. This represents a 45% growth. It also grew its eps from 12k to 56, representing a 366% growth.

Remember that the price has been hampered over the suspension period, which makes the price lacks the latitude to rise alongside other stock prices; therefore, the market considers that the price at which it is trading is still fair.

The bull in the market, alongside the sentiment in the market concerning its price, coupled with the reforms to be carried out in the sector, created an over-bloated outstanding demand for the shares of the company since Monday.
