The FUGAZ banks maybe but all the rest will have to fight for their breakfast in the emerging economy in a few years time. Unfortunately, where we are is part of the problem. If other sectors were performing, no one will really reckon with banks. Nigeria as it is constituted right now is a rent-taking entity not yet a producing economy. However with the stride PBAT is making, things are going to change very soon.
Fidelity, WEMA, Stanbic and Jaiz would surely be successful in the next 50 years.

I won't dispute your projection, but I think there's a common trend whereby blue chip companies buy up innovative companies in their sectors. Like pharmaceutical companies buying up biotech startups, giant tech companies buying innovative startups with excellent products, oil and gas big players buying up distribution/marketing networks. It is one of the advantages of good free cash flow which these leading banks have in abundance.

Fintech is the bride of the day, but when heavy regulations start diminishing their profits, their core investors will not think twice before selling to the leading banks. Alternatively, big cap banks will create their own fintech products to compete in the space. Cashapp and others come to mind. Apple, Samsung etc. buy up tech companies/products to remain sector leaders.

UCAP for instance, launched its microfinance arm because it has the weight. That's a strategic disruption too. How long before Access buys up all the Fintechs in Nigeria?

The best thing anyone can do for his or herself in this faceless forum is to block some people......I can't imagine myself stepping out of AIICO, Ella at 2.25 and 11.99 respectively because of the attacks from some individuals on those that were giving tips on what to buy, which is a selfless service. It is well.

To the newbies......follow who know road oh.

Personally, as part of my trading strategy, I don't chase a moving train.

We go again when next we get a good call!!!

@Loco and @Mega thank you for all you do!!!

The problem of Unity Bank is bad management.

Any Nigerian bank not making profit is being mismanaged.

Are you reading their own posts at all?
I try to ignore most posts that do not align with my purpose of me being on this forum.
Virtually most stocks have been bad-mouthed by some people on this forum at one time or other, so the cycle would never end if we should be tagging/taunting people with the performance of various stocks.
And let us remember that a person who condemned a stocks may actually go behind and buy huge volumes (larger than yours) of the same stocks. Hence, while we are taunting him (and feeling vindicated), he may be making more profits than us on the same stocks.
On a lighter note, for example, @Bovali gave a professional, in-depth analysis of why Oando was not a good buy. But she went back and made a huge kill from the same stocks without anyone of us knowing until she revealed her profits.

But that's wickedness. You distracted others from making it while you go to the back to buy it up. Well GOD isn't MOCKED

There is good liquidity in Japaul.
In the midst of full bid,the volume is increasing.
This is what will drive us far

It may not be a deliberate act of wickedness.
Maybe she forgot, or maybe the intensity and barrage of controversies about Oando at that time, and how some of us approached the issue made her feel shy or reluctant to reveal her change of opinion, so that she would not be taunted/tagged again!

UCAP owns 25% of the company.
