I won't dispute your projection, but I think there's a common trend whereby blue chip companies buy up innovative companies in their sectors. Like pharmaceutical companies buying up biotech startups, giant tech companies buying innovative startups with excellent products, oil and gas big players buying up distribution/marketing networks. It is one of the advantages of good free cash flow which these leading banks have in abundance.

Fintech is the bride of the day, but when heavy regulations start diminishing their profits, their core investors will not think twice before selling to the leading banks. Alternatively, big cap banks will create their own fintech products to compete in the space. Cashapp and others come to mind. Apple, Samsung etc. buy up tech companies/products to remain sector leaders.

UCAP for instance, launched its microfinance arm because it has the weight. That's a strategic disruption too. How long before Access buys up all the Fintechs in Nigeria?

I get your point, but the comparison is not as straightforward as it looks.

Yes, N2 billion worth of GTCO shares paying N180 million in dividends in 2024 is fantastic on paper — that’s a 9% yield in one year, not counting potential capital gains. But you have to remember:

Market volatility – Share prices can swing sharply. A bad earnings year or a market downturn can cut both your capital value and dividends in half. Property values usually don’t crash that quickly in Nigeria unless there’s a major crisis.

Dividend policy is not guaranteed – GTCO paying that much in 2024 doesn’t mean it will keep paying at the same rate forever. Companies can reduce or suspend dividends in tough years.

Property income is relatively stable – While a N500 million property earning N30 million/year may seem small compared to N180 million dividends, rental income tends to be more predictable, and you can index rent to inflation over time.

Leverage & collateral – Banks will almost always prefer real estate as collateral over shares, because they can repossess and sell it in the open market without worrying about share liquidity or price drops.

In short, stocks can give you higher returns if you pick the right ones and time the market well, but real estate gives you more stability, collateral value, and inflation protection. It’s less about which is better and more about which risk profile you’re willing to live with.
I had to respond to your dependable rental income with a saying I coined. "Your tenant's problem is your problem".

For those of you who have "people in the abroad" ask them how much is their mandatory monthly insurance bill.

Bulaba is running a highly capitalist environment for a populace with low education- be it skillwise or academic. That's why putting food-on-the-table is paramount to the average man in all of his reform.
"No be reforms we go chop"-An ill-educated response from a genuine place.
A point.
That's why I mentioned the hyped Motor vehicle insurance of last year. Even with police enforcement. Theres just Little sentimental publicity in progress across the country so far.

Most H1 results on insurance are abysmal compared to last years Euphoria.

In my view, if July 2026 is the deadline, they should be discussing fundraising options and kicking off M&A talks ASAP. M&A deals take months to close, and the longer they wait, the pricier it’ll be to buy out rival competitors.

I expect some to begin openly discussing their options this year or early next year.

I'll be keep the bulk of my insurance stocks come what may, I have enough fat to take any temporal dip.
If it's really July 2026.
Then Time line is very short.

From months to reach out to partners for pp to months to discuss mergers &acquisitions, to months to raise equity or Debt to months for SEC and registrars to finalise and list new shares, etc..

Unless most have internally finalised major arrangements and deals. Still theres still a reasonable lot to do.

Time line is very short.

You can tell all the lies and manipulate SP via brokers. Thr is limit to lie u can tell on the audited financials. The government is involved and u have to pay them thr tax.
It is all this month e no go pass.
Can kpakus make just 300 million revenue is my interest in the result.
What happened to companies that came with bad results this yr.Let me see how kpakus will be different.
The clock is ticking
We saw the going concern by auditors of oando. I will like to see that part too in thr financial results when it comes out
I want to believe Ellah lakes can't do magic to reflect the current price in the forthcoming Financial statement. But I also want to believe they will produce an improved, modernized and worth presenting financial result. Compared to last year.

Remember, results are compared Y-on-Y and Q-on-Q.
FY2025 should be better than FY 2024 in percentage.

Money leaving blue chip companies are moving to insurance sector and other small cap companies. Before the results of quarter 3 starts coming in let the small cap companies feel the groove.. my observation.
