They will say is because u are no longer in the bus and want the price cheaper so u can enter again..lol
"They" need to learn that a 50 kobo stock that earns 5 kobo per share is more expensive than a N1000 that earns N500 per share.

Price is just a number

It's pertinent to know that Saro farms is owned by Olakanmi Rasheed Sarumi and his family who is the Chairman of the Presco. So basically the chairman is selling his farm to his company . Let's be guided
That's better to hear than selling his company(PRESCO) to his farm(SOP).
he believes in PRESCO grin

The Cross River palm oil company is actively receiving bids. I don't know if this is what Ellah is gunning for but the company is up for sale.

SonofElElyonRet:
The thought crossed my mind but it seems highly unlikely that Ellah wouldn't know that Presco would be interested in the asset and would be ridiculous to think that Ellah would hope to beat Presco to an asset belonging to the latter's chairman grin

We can give excuses for SOP that have been existing for a very long time with losses but suddenly her junior sister ellahlaked that exist in the same space for less than 6 years being crucified for the same reason.

Is this view balance?
grin grin
People have been hammering on Ellahs to show working on telluria farm acquisition that was operational before 2019.

How Ellah take become junior sister all of a sudden?
Abi ee suppose be im PAPA sef grin

Is this view not balanced? grin

In this SOP transaction, I just hope presco is not over paying because it's oga at the top kaya.
Probably cheap for PRESCO
Or they are paying off long term debts as part of purchase price.

PRESCO has many integrating capabilities like an All-in-one suite. It's going to leverage so many of those assets and technical expertise to transform SOP I believe.

Thank you

You are being realistic

People should not be kept in the dark
You are right. It's shareholders right to know.
That 'dark' is a strategic decision.

Companies do it..
You hailed their PR in one of your comments. That's the goal all along.
OandO did it grin

They give out info when it should have the most effect where and how they want it.
That's the PR you praised in one of your comments.

It's the Politics of their business model in the short term I think grin

I personally i said here that ellahlakes CEO has a tangible results as his bargaining power which is yet to be revealed to the public.

Its important to also note that, I said they just want to corner some as they are feeling entitled just like majority of us will do. How much they want to corner is what we don't know.
That dangote guy will never come if he did not see breast in loco voice.

But time will reveal who is correct between us.
I agree, he has sth he's withholding. Na strategy.

On paper the Executives forfeit their salaries for years now.

Ellah being a baby in red oil has two risks to shareholder prosperity. 1. Greed of management. Not enough data to assess this properly. e.g. Historically GTCO management is far far better than FBNH management in this greed index. 2. Learning curve and establishment / development of stakeholders needed to mint money from the business. Based on these two and from currently limited available info I wish another person grab the so asset they want to purchase. Make them walk before running.
@ bolded.
Exactly what I said sometime ago. They want to sprint rather than organic growth.
But I hope it works for them still.
Maybe they can walk after covering 80% of their marathon sprint grin

Ellah has already received shareholders approval to raise ₦250 billion. If they're unable to get the so-called asset, the management may raise the funds and then start spending it recklessly on salaries, interest on loans they gave the company and other frivolous operational expenses. The CEO needs to be more transparent.

Why the sales.? Why not operate them and make money.?
I think it takes corporate expertise to operate and build quality stakeholders that mint money and not lose money. My take is the sellers have concluded they ain’t got it (especially if it’s heavily tilted towards government ownership). And bet to sell the asset to someone who’s got it.

It's a sad reality in Nigeria that very few government-established and operated companies can match up with their peers internationally.

Even the few privately run ones are struggling to surmount the government instituted hurdles... sad

Presco and Okomu used to be owned by Federal Government and old Bendel State ( now Edo and Delta)

They became profitabie when they were sold to foreign investors

Government will make money from taxes, levies, dues and duties

Since the previous chairman of Aradel Ladi Jadesimi retired, the stock has been almost on full offer above ₦520. In fact, the total offer is above ₦4.5 billion compared to bid around ₦400 million.

Jadi has two daughters. One is the CEO of LADOL, the other is a socialite abroad.

There's been a significant buying of Aradel shares by employees of Aradel or people connected to them in recent times.

What are the chances that Ladi has put all or majority of his shares on offer to the public, with a plan to distribute the proceeds as he likes when he passes on?

If it isn't Ladi, then who is selling such a huge quantity and why? The company has performed well in the past two years from their financial statements, so is there something inherently wrong with the company that people are not yet seeing?

With such a huge offer compared to bid, how long will it take for price to fall another 10-20% so one can buy in for the long term?

If you are a trader that is looking for a short term return I will advise you to sell.

But if you are an investor who is planning to hold the stock for 5 years and above, you can continue to buy based on your cash flow

Badagry Creek FZE is the firm through which Mr Jadesimi holds his shares. AFS 2024 stated about 229m units (over 5.2%) which qualifies him or his rep for a seat on the board.

I don't think he'll sell just like that but...

Sir, I need your advise

I have never taken a loan before.

I am entitled to 18m + units of Chams PLC right which will cost me around ₦30m + to buy. I need a loan of ₦30m to acquire the rights.

I have a portfolio value around ₦170m (mostly with Morgan) and can return about ₦500k/month.

I hope to liquidate the loan under a year.

I need advise on how to get this loan sir.

Thanks sir
I get loans for stock investment from my stockbroker or their sister companies. Talk to your Stockbroker

Loans for trading stocks are not usually structured for monthly payments but for quarterly or semi annual payments.

The value of the portfolio does not actually matter is you N170 million portfolio generating a dividend income of N15 million per annum. If yes your portfolio can conveniently service the N30 million loan.

Personally I don't do business with stockbroking firms that can grant me loans when I identify opportunities in the market
