EDUECO:The market giveth, the market taketh glory be to the name of the stock market. If one is not careful a portfolio of N500 million filled with junk stocks can turn to N50 million. Reason why financial institutions don't accept some stocks as collateral security |

EDUECO:They question then becomes whether they can stomach these losses without going into panic mode. |

austinkenneth:Some will panic-sell, only to see the stock prices bounce back and even past their loss position. I think they will recover in the next general bull. Just that if you lose 50%, you will need a 100% gain to return back to the break even position |

A little, interesting, off-topic distraction this Sunday morning, a story I had heard even before this post. While you're at it, pls remember that Aliko Dangote was not anywhere near the famous potentate he is today, in the days of Benson Idahosah. Dogalmighty17: |

Agbalowomeri:+1 Dangote's encounter with Arch Bishop Benson Idahosa 2025 The encounter between Aliko Dangote and Archbishop Benson Idahosa is a well-known story in Nigeria, particularly within Pentecostal Christian circles. It is often cited as a pivotal moment in Dangote's life that propelled him towards his current status as Africa's richest man. The story, recounted in various ways, generally involves Idahosa, a prominent Pentecostal preacher, needing a seat on a fully booked flight from Benin City to Lagos. Dangote, then a young businessman, reportedly gave up his seat to allow Idahosa and his guest to travel. In return, Idahosa is said to have prophesied that the world would make way for Dangote, and that his business would expand beyond Africa. While the specific details of the encounter vary slightly across different accounts, the core narrative remains consistent: Dangote's act of generosity towards Idahosa was met with a powerful prophetic blessing that is believed to have played a significant role in his subsequent success. Some versions of the story also highlight Dangote's respectful attitude towards Idahosa, even though Dangote is a Muslim. Some accounts also mention Dangote supplying cement for free when building one of the largest churches in Nigeria, further emphasizing his connection to Idahosa and his ministry. |

austinkenneth:That is for a class of people not for me mostly for jijo group Then again if you are an investor who does thr fundamental analysis .Thr is no time is early or late to buy fundamental sound stocks after my yrs of being in this business. I bought Veritas at 27kobo and have sold some what pull back will take it back to thr. That will not be called pull back again |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 1:54pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
Agbalowomeri:Thr has only been pull back of two days. How will extra one day make it 50%. The pull back will not pass tomorrow if it even happens. Many of those that went above #3 or slightly below #3 will not go below #2. I don they sabi jijo pattern. I no sabi TA tools but I sabi use bid and offer gauge the matter |

emmanuelewumi:Thanks for your response. I agree with you. The instance I gave for a software business which can have high gross margin at the beginning but that could disappear when it starts facing stiff competition. But that's different for a difficult to copy business like NAHCO, NGXGROUP and PRESCO for Eg. You are a buffet prodigy that I admire a lot. So I know you always have a long-term outlook for these businesses you invest in. I would like to know how you access the longterm durability of the moats before investing. |

Agbalowomeri:Instead of trying to discredit the story why not try to do some fact checking. Idahosa was known for being very audacious |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by NettyNelly(m): 2:07pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
NettyNelly:Take for Eg. There’s a listed Technology bussiness that used to provide crucial service to MTN (biggest customer), but that's no longer the same because MTN started self-providing same service. The said business had high ROIC in the recent years. High gross margin but that won't be the same going forward. This same business is selling at a single digit PE |

Agbalowomeri:The bag holders have not yet bought. Those insurance stocks will still go above those prices this yr.Some will still touch #5.It is not only kpakus that can manipulate thr price. The burst will come after thr full yr result. The jingles is seriously happening in social media platforms to an extent my wife is now interested and asking what is jijo. She want to invest because someone is promising 500% on his twitter space for insurance stock. Na me no agree yet |

emmanuelewumi:With all due respect, you are in no position to speak so emphatically on the matter... Except you can provide some hard evidence to prove it's a fake story. The best you can do is to express doubts as to the veracity |

handsomebolanle:The only one I can remember of are Dunlop and Oando I am always lucky to bailout before katakata . burst. I bailed out before Intercontinental bank, Oceanic bank, Wema Bank, Mutual Benefits Assurance, Union Bank, Skye Bank, Afribank before they had issues. I sold everything. I drastically reduced my holdings in First Bank before they had issues I bailed out of Oando at between N20 and N24 about 12 years ago and never looked back. It is a fact that a business can't go under overnight, it must have been giving the signs about 2 years ago |
