SonofElElyonRet:All the billionaires are writing their biography, Dangote will include that encounter in his biography |

nosa2:Not likely.. not when they are raising N250b and plan to acquire a "significant agricultural asset". There's bound to be good news at many junctions along the journey |

emmanuelewumi:Not logically correct that if he doesn't include the story in his biography then it means it is false |

Agbalowomeri:From the book " The making and makers of Nigeria private capital" written by a Briton named Tom Forrest As far back as 1935 Dangote's grandfather was the biggest customer of the British Bank of West Africa now known as First Bank. The book also claimed that his father was also the richest trader in West Africa, with outlets in Niger, Mali, Ghana, etc |

emmanuelewumi:What were the signs that made you to sell your holdings in these companies? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 4:14pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
EDUECO:Dividend cut. Borrowing to pay dividends. You can know this when the dividend declared is more than the free cash flow. Nestle dipped hands into reserve in order to pay dividends about 2 years ago. You also consider the debt. I think total debt should not be more than twice of the EBIT. Late submission of financial reports to regulatory bodies. I also try to read and digest the auditor's report. And many others |

emmanuelewumi:Another thing to consider is the quality of the earnings. Some profits are not backed by cash. I expect a free cash flow conversion of at least 70% That is free cash flow/profit after tax. Profit should also be from operation. Some businesses that are popular here made profits through the disposal of their assets or tax credits. This is not sustainable Continuous reduction in ROE and margins are also red flags |

They should know what will happen when results comes out.You don't build something on nothing and expect it to stand. Why did many in that category crash in the past. They say our past experience no longer count for the new generation because they now have TA in the game |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 6:23pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
nosa2:Check out the Math. Current equity is less than N25 billion, but want to raise N250 billion. Probably people who invest in the planned N250 billion public offer, will own 45% of the business. I don't think intelligent investors will buy that although we have more of emotional and unintelligent investors in the market The best bet is for them to have a right offer, but I know that can't work. Because most of the current shareholders are looking for a greater fool. So a right offer can't fly |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmaodet: 6:26pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:I agree with you. The first red flag i notice is continuous reduction in revenue followed by dwindling margins. Those are No..no for me. They are early warnings e.g Tripple Gee. If revenue is dwindling Q on Q and YoY, na to start to dey prepare my kaiya t run. Another is CCC (cash conversion Cycle) for manufacturing / consumer / production companies. If your payable days are increasing - struggling to pay suppliers, Inventory conversion ratio increasing - struggling to produce and fill up goods and also struggling to sell, Receivables oustanding increasing - struggling to collect your cash from customers / literarily begging customers to take and sell your goods, it is a big redflag to me. Inventory increasing faster than revenue and earnings Receivables increasing faster than revenue and earnings to name a few |

Its so interesting seeing people feeling like the gods of the market. What will you expect from someone that sold his Ella at 4 just because he believed it will turn back and never return, saying the same thing at 19 even though he regretted for selling at 4. I wondered how people come here to predict the market they had no control over, I know at 10 you would have told the person that bought at that price the same thing. A company we are yet to have metrics to value can swing up the way we never imagined if the valuation is more than what the majority are imagining and do the other way round as well when the reality hit the market. Well, many of you will still eat your words when the price go above 20 like you have done in the past. Ella is at the point that a news could change everything, people speculating are not stupid. Every possibility is open here and that is the reality. |

emmanuelewumi:I'm just saying his non inclusion of the encounter will not constitute proof that it didn't happen. He has a reason not to include it. He's Muslim. He could face backlash from fellow northern Muslims for "advertising" Christianity |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 6:32pm On Aug 17, 2025 |
SonofElElyonRet:For that to be justified based on the current 3.6 billion shares of the company. Ellah must make a revenue of N72 billion and profit after tax of N36 billion at a net profit margin of 50%. That will give it EPS of N10 and probably pay a dividend of N7 per share It is very possible, they only need to show workings and evidence |
