For every domain you register or renew, make sure auto renewal is turned off. Look out for extras that may warrant monthly or yearly payment and cancell them as well.

Because any time money is in your account and the monthly payment hits your card, all the outstanding will be settled if your balance is sufficient to take care of it.

I have no domain due for renewals on Z .com. And most of my domains on their website are newly registered at $4.98 current price for their . Com

So where the $0.6 charges come from, I don't know.

The W-8 form requested by Atom is a U.S. IRS tax form that non-U.S. domain investors outside the United States must submit. The form is to establish that you are not a U.S. resident for tax purposes and allows Atom to pay you proceeds from domain sales without withholding U.S. income tax. The only deductions will be Atom's sale commission (not tax), and the transaction fees by your banks.

To process the form, download it from Atom, then upload on smallpdf.com to fill it with the required details. Finally, download the processed copy and send to Atom via email or customer service chat.

The $0.6 is a subcharge. It is charged on all registered domains on Zdotcom. Even if you freeze the card or there’s no money in it, they will still charge you the moment you unfreeze it or when you fund it no matter how long it takes. It’s automatic.

So the actual cost of registration on Z is $5.58.

The next day or two days later usually midnight aka a.m if you have money in the card. If the card is not funded, they wont charge it. But when it gets funded they will deduct the amount. Usually at midnight.

If you want to escape that, use registrars in the USA like Dreamhost or Unstoppable domains for $4.99 and $5 respectively. UD $5 is Fridays only. Dreamhost $4.99 is everyday

Choose local bank account.
Swift is for transfer. But you are trying to use ACH

This. That's why I use PayPal on most of these websites instead of adding my card details directly - Dynadot is my only current exception among registrars.

This same ZCOM adds automatic payment setting to your PayPal account after orders you make there. I always make sure to remove that automatic payment afterwards to avoid unexpected deductions like that.

This pretty much explains it!

I had similar deductions when I used my Grey card to get a few small items from AliExpress last year. I was made to understand it's some cross-border fee.

Anyone that wants to avoid it should simply use PayPal. I believe it should be possible to link a Grey card to a PayPal account.
