Single And Financially Okay Men Are The Happiest In This Current Regime by Tempulated(op): 8:28am On Aug 18, 2025
Recently I did my survey with regards to the current situation of Nigeria.

My interviews with single men and married men showed single financially okay men are more happier than married financially struggling men.

Share your experiences on the streets.

Being a family man under Tinubu is literally a curse. One burden to another. Schools are about to resume. Daily feeding and transportation.

I am a married man with four children. I basically survive on my passive income that brings in substantial amount of money.

I am extremely happy with my life especially in this current wicked administration and my only angst is,seeing people suffer economically.

No doubt, many married men and women with children are suffering terribly.

The situation is very clear as daytime.

Don't ask Nairaland members for contact details (Email, Phone, BBPin) or Investments.

I don't agree with you, it all depends on individuals.

I'm happier now as a family man than when I was single. Nothing gives me more joy than coming back from work and spending time with my wife and baby.

I'm curious (no harm intended),

- On average, how many men did you interview?
- In what part of Nigeria did these interviews take place?
- What kind of questions did you ask these men?
- What is the age range of these men?

There are many more I could have asked, but let me stop here. Your survey is actually a very good one though, kudos.

To thrive or be stable in Nigeria going forward, it's pretty simple.

- Ensure you have a consistent, sustainable (growth options) and legitimate sources of income
- Have fewer children. This is the ultimate. The average Nigerian family need not have more than two children.
- For financially stable bachelors, avoid ladies who have too many siblings, especially if the siblings are still young or teenagers. The alternative is to check if her parents would be fully responsible for their care till they become adults. Too many Nigerian men take up the responsibilities of their in-laws whereas they should focus squarely on their new families
- Have fewer children.
- Avoid unnecessary expenses and keeping up with the Joneses. Shoe get size. Don't do follow when your power no reach.
- Have fewer children

Infact, This cannot be emphasized.

The glaring despair on struggling family men faces most especially those in lagos state is mind blogging.

Even the financially okay ones are lowkey murmuring and complaining.

People are suffering brother...I can't explain it all. I have seen and I can only pity them and support the ones I can.

The rate at which people are being plunged into poverty is annoyingly alarming, yet some are saying the economy is working.

Do not hate yourself to the point that you are dating a lady who is a liability. The same education you got, she got. The same employment opportunities you have, she has. Everything available for you to succeed as a man are also available to her. You can't afford to date a woman who has nothing to contribute financially. It will be like taking an axe an knocking a hole in your boat. You will sink.

Stay single but if you must date, go for a lady that has a measure of financial stability.

For where, 2 more kids even too far. Shebi tilumbu has (some say) 6 more years to run the economy down lol 😆

Let those his kindergarten toddlers grow up small so their mouths and stomachs will become wide enough to let them start swallowing eba 😂 na that time him eye go clear VAAAAA! grin

Sicklebear28:
I remember years back when my first child clock three years. The mother gave him a plate of rice. After eating it, the look on the boy's face made the mother to ask if there is any problem. The boy's response was stocking. He said he needed more. Oboy since then I knew my three years old son can eat the quantity of food I eat.
Hahaha 🤣😂 this your post is really nostalgic to me ajē 🤗

We've been there, remain some others to experience am too so their own eye to clear like our own 😏

Not entirely true, my guy.
I’ve also seen the other side on the streets.

There are single guys who look “financially okay” on the outside, but when you sit with them, they confess the weight of loneliness is heavy. One even told me, “I have money, but every night I return to an empty house. No one to share it with, no one to build with. It’s depressing.”
I also spoke with a young lady working in tech. She earns well above average, yet she admitted how this regime has made her shoulder all family responsibilities alone. Her younger siblings look up to her for survival, her parents depend on her monthly, and she cried saying, “Sometimes I wish I had a partner to at least split these burdens with.”

And there are plenty of single men who are “financially okay” today, but terrified about tomorrow. Inflation, unstable forex, fuel costs — they confess that one wrong move could wipe away their savings. Some even envy married men who, though struggling, at least have a partner to encourage them and brainstorm survival strategies.

Truth is, happiness is not about single or married alone. Under this economy, both sides are agonizing in different ways. Some married men feel trapped by responsibilities, while some single men and women feel crushed by loneliness, pressure, and family expectations.

On the streets, it’s pain across board — just in different forms.
