There was a stock I dabbled into in 2008. Dealt with my capital like shege - lost 90% at some point and sat there, so I forgot about it.

Two days ago, I received AGM notification and decided to check and saw it had double the 2008 price. I don't even know how to access it apart from reaching out to the Registrars grin

I plan to offload soon and get something else. I had since lost touch and interest in stocks......

Gurus in the house please i need guidance regarding my insurance policy issue, i know this might not be the right thread however its still boils down to investment.

Five years ago, I subscribed to the Flex Edu Insurance Policy with First Bank Insurance for my daughter’s education, which was due to mature this year. Along the way, the policy management was moved to Sanlam Nigeria (a partner company, as I was informed). Despite the transition, everything seemed smooth until recently.

A few weeks before the maturity date, I contacted the company to confirm that all was in order. They responded promptly, acknowledged the upcoming maturity, and provided me with a statement of account. (Also note I had exchange several mails before and they responded swiftly)

Five days before maturity, I was forwarded a form & asked to complete a payment voucher for the full benefit. However, it has now been several weeks since maturity, and I am yet to receive any payment. To make matters worse, I even noticed an over-debit on my account, which I raised with the company, but my emails have since gone unanswered. I have sent multiple follow-ups to every contact I have, including those I previously engaged with, but there has been no response.

Currently, I can no longer access my account online, which raises even more concern. After diligently saving monthly for five years for my daughter’s education, I feel deeply frustrated and disappointed by this experience.

I kindly seek your advice on how best to call out these people?
How I can recover my funds after years of committed savings.

Is First Bank Insurance is still directly involved in this matter? and What formal steps I can take to escalate this issue if Sanlam Nigeria continues to be unresponsive

This situation feels unfair and distressing, and I would appreciate any support, guidance, or escalation channels you can provide to help resolve it.

I will appreciate every single help I could get on here
Thanks

The organization is on Facebook.

Just go on Facebook to drag them the way Agberos collect tax from transporters.

Just tell them Emilokon, that it is your daughter's turn to collect the insurance policy. cool

If the organization is not corperating with you, then you have to involve NAICOM.

What happens here is the elders we have are selfish elders who don't encourage the younger ones. They only become active when the market is in red to mock you but God pass them. They are already Billionaires but they don't support you newbie making money like them. They want you eating from hand to mouth. They don't give you update even when they have insider information.Thats the type of elders you have here.

Loco can't be part of them.We have been in this market for more than 2 decades.
We understand the language of the market.

The market is not yet in a panic mode.
It's just the pullback which didn't caught us unawares.I spoke about this pullback during the insurance bull two weeks ago.

Loco is bringing substantial amount into the market tomorrow being Friday and will be waiting for Royalex and Japaul as the pullback is about to bottom.

If you have not sold till now,no need to sell again because these prices you are seeing now are still undervalued.

The Govt is preaching $1 Trillion economy.I don't think they will achieve it through this way. This is just the handwork of market players in conjunction with traders.

STOP THE SELL NOW,MARKET IS COMING BACK NEXT WEEK.

Loco,I know you're a product of House of Knowledge (HK). Ade Bendel is your mentor! cool

Is like you want to use reverse psychology to win back your fan base. It is well known that you're a promoter or marketer of junk stocks;and investment in junk stocks is not sustainable.

I once did business with them and everything went smoothly.
If they have a physical office in your place, visiting their office will not be a bad idea.

Good. Now do the same for Chams, on which he claimed to bet his children's inheritance.

We're too short-term focused. Even a dunce will be right on some stocks in the short term (and wrong on others).

Insurance guys still have a long way to go.

You would have been better off investing in Money Market Fund or Eurobond Fund consistently for the past 5 years for your daughters education

@Locotrader
Thanks for that submission.
I just checked the number of stocks lost and gained.
You know, my logging in now is to make my usual motivational post..... smiley
That, for those already in the market before this red, let's be patient so as not to sell at loss or huge loss......
Capital preservation should be the priority now..
Mr. Market will always do what Mr. Market will do...
Market goes up and down and the red cannot continue unabaited, it will stabilize at some points, then reverse back up...
From today's trading, though selling pressure still persists but some resistance were also sighted alongside intraday....
* According to my Oga, the market is generally still undervalued....
* Let's hang in there, we shall all smile again and resume our bullish discussions... smiley

They are just fraudulent. That is why I don't take what ever the government sign as document as serious.
I and my inlaw did assurance with standard alliance those days for 3 yrs to boost the target of family member working with them
Oga when it was matured to even collect our principal was wahala. It became physical fight at thr office to collect our money. U know I be street. After that client she brought was calling to threaten as she resigned even uniform clients she brought in. The company finally closed shop without paying many matured claims.
The only insurance I will ever do again in this life is third party for my car
Friends who did compressive insurance for thr cars as new vehicles never got claims when the cars had accident or stolen in kaduna.
They will always come with excuses why they won't pay or engage criminal lawyers who will frustrate u.
I dey wait the insurance that will come to collect the money they are signing for buildings.Have u seen any insurance company take up third party responsible in any situation concerning the car in an accident

If it's feasible to pay them a visit, do so.
Report them to NAICOM.
If you're close friends with a lawyer, see if a letter can be sent across.

That's around $8k in '08.

If you had put it as USD in a vehicle that did just 5% p.a compounded, it would have been around N27. 5m today.

It could have been higher if you had purchased land with it in almost any part of Lagos.

But N1.7m is still better than nothing too.
