Okay....My response was based on the chart..looking at it from the daily TM, based on TA, the market is attempting to go higher, but the liquidity around 112k-115k needs to be cleared. But on the flipside, the manipulations in the market can't be overruled. I left crypto in 2020-2021....my eyes saw shege....from that point, I knew that market wasn't for me.

It's not necessary to strengthen the naira right now; maintaining stability is more important. Forcing appreciation could create instability and reverse recent gains. Sustained stability will, over time, move us closer to purchasing power parity with the dollar and help manage inflation.
I agree. In Abacha’s time, official rate was 22 naira which was fixed by Abacha but the market rate could not obey this because there were international sanctions and the economy was already bad with high inflation.

The parallel market rate continued to widen from that 1994 and moved from that 22 naira to 86 naira as at 1998 (x4 of the bank or official rate). In 1999, the currency was harmonised to reflect market rates and this plunged everything including the GDP in 1999. Inflation continued to bite and we were worse off and much poorer.

The currency continued to move in 2000/2001 from that 90 naira until it got to 130/150. From 2002 with high growth, and good economic reforms which also included clearing of debts, the naira stabilised at that 130/150, the foreign reserves rose significantly and purchasing power began to measure up to that 150 level, GDP also picked up rapidly again.

We’ve been through all these before. Nigerian political and economic history should be studied in detail by our leaders.

Aradel is renewing its $1.2 billion gas deal with NLNG

Not that it would have any effect on their stock price, though.

We are very good at playing with fantastic rhetoric.
What ''recent gains'' have we achieved and how would strengthening the value of the naira create ''instability'' in a country that is heavily dependent on imports?
The only so called ''stability'' we have now is the near-total dislocation of the economy caused by the reckless floatation and devaluation of the naira from N550 to N1,550.
There would not be any purchasing power parity with the dollar as long as there is cost-push, import induced inflation, and a weak industrial base.

You need to update yourself bro.

Countries now use BTC to store their reserves.

I believe even Elon Musk invests in cryptocurrency.

Many established companies are buying up BTC and ETH.

Very soon you will say BTC is scam. grin

Rome they said wasn't built in a day, we all cannot have the same economic solutions for a problem with the same process, we can only concludes on tackling the same problem with different approaches.
We also need to understand that for every economic policy, another economic problems open up.

Everywhere in the world people disagree with the policy makers but that doesn't mean they are right, policy makers have access to some information that people from outside can't see.
We just need to start somewhere, when these guys started working on stablising the naira, you always come with plenty reasons why you think it wouldn't work but today you agreed naira has been stablised and you are talking about appreciation, we gave them the job because we believed in them, pls let them fldo their job the way they believed uptimum results can be achieved.

If you buy BTC and there is no increase in price.

How are you going to make money when there is no increase in price?

I put the ''stability'' in inverted commas, that is to say it is within a context, vague, and neither real nor factual.
Nigerians did not give anybody a job to destroy the economy, cause job losses, worsen the poverty situation and inflict unprecedented hardship on the masses etc.

BTC was designed to undergo deflation not inflation.
