Zenith will be above 350 by then, and dividends will also increase. Investing in good stocks will still outperform devaluation. For example, if a solid portfolio is generating 15 million in profits now, when the dollar reaches 20,000, it will generate over 60 million. lipsrsealed
If you go fit keep the shares forever grin

Human nature, you go wan sell to feed your cravings grin grin grin

Agba is correct.
When you have such amount in dollars($10k). Irrespective of Naira inflation or devalued Exchange rate, It will sustain you..

It is you and I that are busy converting the $10k to naira @ current fx rate; and then comparing the naira equivalent to possible future Exchange rate of ₦20000=$1 cheesy. grin
Naira equivalent won't be sustainable.

His only pulling your legs from a different perspective.
Check his earlier comment below.
No it will not sustain. No naira denominated investment cash flow that is globally worth $10k now will sustain if there's inflation and a currency devaluation of #20000. Your purchasing power is over or at the very least minimal. Unless of course the investment grows exponentially to beat not just inflation but more importantly the currency devaluation and the lost of the purchasing power.

Or maybe your investment was dollar denominated or it's cash equivalent and you quickly convert it to sustain yourself and become a 'king' in such a poor country. You will get 10k × 20000 = #200,000,000 and not a #15000000($10k × 1500) that was far more valuable with high purchasing power. Iran, Venezuela and Zimbabwe will be child's play.

Wondering what could have caused this bear around this time....
Absence of no news?
Some ogas fuelling panic sales in some quarters?
Let no one come up with school fees excuse, because it's definitely not it.
Anyway, we've been there before....
This time shall surely pass again.
Let's see if bank results can stem it.

* Quite some resilience from some stocks amidst all these.
* Good enough, the big caps are still holding up.......these are the ones capable of shedding the ASI and dragging it down very low.
It's well.

Thanks boss.
Does it mean this downside is rather presenting opportunities to be picking in tranches and not to run away from the market sir?
That would be a relief at least.

Agba is making it to be like ammagedon 😁

You look at total return, expected dividend and earning growth.

I think dividend yield of 7% is good if earnings can grow by 15%

Some few stocks have been growing their earnings by over 30% in the last 5 years

Access Bank has high potential for 50% capital appreciation in a year from now (not sure it can deliver 10% dividend yield)

No cause for alarm if you know the stocks you have bought and also know why you bought the stocks.

But if you have stocks that are not fundamentally sound, one needs keep an eye on such stocks

Are you saying Access can pay a total dividend of N3. Referring to both interim and final dividend

146k to 138k in about 2weeks.

The market seems to be going through a lot.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 2:53pm On Sep 02, 2025
100k volume on MTN would move it closer to 136k.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 2:55pm On Sep 02, 2025
Cbn should approve dividends and cut mpr by 175 basis points, so the market can catch a breath.

They paid N2.5 for last year. They have maintained a steady rise in both interim and final dividends since 2018. They promised paying at least N1 as interim dividend this year (that was before the CBN directive on forbearance).
We watch and see, but I think Access might have the best % dividend in the industry this year(if CBN does not intervene) I mean above 10% dividend yield

Agreed on the bolded.
We are still saying the same thing. If it's converted to Naira, not sustainable.

On your second paragraph,
But what If you physically live outside Nigeria but live on Nigerian goods and services(via export)
Then what Agba said is plausible for the next 20yrs. grin
You literally said it when you mentioned higher purchasing power.
You use less and less of your dollars to purchase more and more goods and services
