ProphetUtuocha:
Vision Concerning Ellah

I was lifted in the night, and I beheld Ellah as a tall cedar planted by the waters. Her branches spread wide, and the birds of the air found shade in her leaves. Men looked and said, ‘Behold Ellah, strong and unshakable!’

But suddenly a great wind arose from the east, and the roots of the cedar were revealed. They were shallow, feeding not on rock but on dust. And the tree trembled, and its branches snapped, and the birds fled in terror.

Then I saw merchants in the marketplace. They carried scales in their hands, yet the weights were false. They shouted loudly of profit, but their baskets were empty. A voice cried out: ‘Woe to those who trust in Ellah! For her height is pride and her fruit is vanity.’

And it came to pass that fire struck the cedar, and it fell with a crash heard in the farthest cities. Those who traded in her shade tore their garments and cast dust upon their heads, saying, ‘Alas, who shall restore Ellah?’

But to the humble I heard a whisper: ‘Fear not. Though the cedar has fallen, I will be your shelter. Though the market shakes, my rock shall not be moved.’

Note: that which has been revealed has been unveiled. Those who have ears, let them hear!

Melodramatic Utuocha.
Your fictitious "vision" (which is a brilliant work of literature) ends on an ambiguous note. 'But to the humble I heard a whisper: ‘Fear not. Though the cedar has fallen, I will be your shelter. Though the market shakes, my rock shall not be moved.’ so being humble is a factor that determines success in the stock market kwa? Just stick to Oando prognostication..

Good investment income grows with inflation or faster than inflation.

1 million units of Nahco gave a dividend of less than 300k in 2020

But gave a dividend of over N5 million in 2025.

Even if your investment income is from a fixed income investment, if you reinvest 40% to 503 of the investment income, the investment income will continue to grow
What is 503?
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 7:56am On Sep 03, 2025
I simply read it as 50% (Shift + 3 will give%) smiley

TARGET TECHNICAL ANALYSIS SAMPLE REPORT
This is a tip of what we look at everyday. Full report before market opens:

MARKET PLAN FOR 03 SEPTEMBER 2025
NIGERIA

The likely market direction for Wednesday, September 3, 2025, is sideways with a bearish bias.

The market reports indicated a general "profit-taking" and "sell pressure" by investors, particularly on insurance stocks.

Trading lifted on some of the suspended stocks: Universal Insurance confirmed

The key takeaway is that smart money is not leaving the market but is instead repositioning.

Investors are likely to continue to be wary, but the bearish sentiment may not be strong enough to cause a significant plunge, as smart money appears to be rotating rather than exiting.

I think the market would likely be bearish generally, until companies start releasing reports on capital raise, mergers,/acquisitions, Q3 performance etc.

@bolded that's why I think @Agba reminded you it's a dollar denominated investment not naira in his first quote.

Also @bolded, agreed, if investment returns is static
(like bonds).
Those who depend majorly on savings-bond or FG bond pre-2024 or pre-2023 are not finding it funny.Though depends on the face value.(9%-14% then).

But for stock investment, generally, if inflation increases, a good, well managed business on NGX experience relative price appreciation as well. Especially those on economic necessities.
They mirror inflation as PA Emma stated earlier.

We had it bad from 2023 finance yr reports
(reported in 2024) because we were really import dependent.
Most NGX companies were exposed to forex negatively (except Banks).
From cost of import of goods, to import of raw materials, import of machines and infrastructure all needed to be restructured to accommodate
new Fx rate.
Even probably finance restructuring to accommodate inflation rate according to debt contract terms to avoid default risks and associated penalties.

So rather than a corresponding increase in share price to mirror inflation which ideally all well managed companies should do cuz they will also increase their cost goods and services on the streets as well, they mostly nose-dived in SP or were at best crawling.

Most are just recovering of recent especially consumer goods sector.
You understand me 90%👍

this figure is still not transparent unless you can show us a corporate disclosure that the amount was N93. Reading about this figure from digital news media is still not transparent enough unless we hear from direct source as it should be
