As part of what I think can help the market recover fast at a time like is further clarity on the tax proposal Affirmation that such taxes won’t impact earnings significantly could offer relief, especially for banks. |

crownprince2017:Yeah, i'm aligned with you on this one, its like a cliche everywhere you turn to, people dishing advice to newbies to get dividend growth stocks citing banks, thats a very dangerous advice simply because there is no basis for it....if you are looking to turn your money in short to medium term, it makes no sense except you know what you're doing...if you want to park the money for 5 to 10 years, then sure you can do that and enjoy dividends when they come and some capital appreciation along with some dilution....but certainly not a vehicle for newbies looking for short to medium term investments... |

nosa2:"trust me bro" More like the caveat emptor to anyone who reads it to do his/her DD. Irrespective of the "trust" word. It's our Naija linguistic jargon ![]() "trust me bro" means: It's not a fact. I don't have a legit source. Just my personal instinct/forecast. It usually includes the word "bro". Nothing personal ![]()

crownprince2017:I agree to an extent. It's a sector that deals entirely in numbers. And that makes it prone to manipulation. It's precisely cuz of the above that they won't delist. They need to earn and retain the trust, honesty and goodwill by being "outwardly" transparent where possible especially with competitors around ![]() |

chimex38:Some of the longest privately run companies in Nigeria from inception still in existence today whose existence don't look like fading out like Microsoft, Google, Opera, Tesla, Oracle,IBM. Whether listed on Ngx or not. But have whethered Naijas Volatility. Banks(FBN,Wema,Union, Stanbic) DIL(Dangote Cement) Promasidor NIG(cowbell) MTN(relatively new, but looks long term stay in naija) Cadbury,Nestle,Mobil,Total Julius Berger, Dantata, PZ,Unilever,Shell,UAC, Ellah,PWC, Delliote Tantalizer, Aiico, Leadway,ABC Transport, Chisco(Night Bus), Young Shall Grow, Peace Mass Transit Newspapers(Punch, Vanguard) Longman(LearnAfrica). some Naija group of schools (Loyola, CKC, Corona) etc..... ...... these ones never close shop. Prefer to die fighting ![]() THIS IS DEFINITELY NOT AN INVESTMENT ADVICE. |

SonofElElyonRet:The dilution rate is extremely high. They used around 3b to run the farm with capex in the just concluded fiscal year. Their cash & CE is around 6b currently. It means it will take them roughly 2 years to blow-up that money and say thy want to raise cash again or more dilution (aside the 250b they freshly want to raise). I hope they will be generating enough revenue and profit to atleast take care of the farm running cost of 3b annually. |
