I usually have this same issue but I found a way around it. First sign out then sign in and you’re back in business or rather that’s what worked for me.

Any common sense pick at current price? huh
@pluto09.
Well-structured insurance companies will run more like quasi-banks. Their investment portfolio earnings should mirror yields in the bonds/treasury/mutual funds/CP etc. The extra funds from recapitalization if properly deployed should see those with strong interests in investments doing great even if core insurance is not so great in the immediacy until public perception or compliance is beaten into shape by strict legislation aided by stiff penalties for defaulters. Even though Mutual benefits has reached our lower target of N4.65, the current price of 3.43 is still good for at least a 50% upside to N5+ once their Q3 shows sustained momentum. Better still if you dive in at sub 3.15.

That is not to suggest that value doesn’t still exist elsewhere if considering dividend-paying stocks …

Something funny is happening in TIP. Those in the bus can shed more light grin grin. A director in TIP, AFOLAYAN SAMUEL OLAJIDE bought 2,200,000 units of TIP at N2.03 on the 15th of May 2024, and equally sold 5,069,015 units at the same price on the same date. And i am wondering, what kind of play is this? grin grin grin
AFOLAYAN SAMUEL OLAJIDE, a substantial shareholder at The Initiates Plc (TIP) is doing the same thing again right now. He is selling off large chunks of his old stocks in order to buy new ones.

Let me try to explain within my limited knowledge of the stock market and trading, which I have been studying for decades, but just started practising in 2025.

T.I.P is about to do a rights issue, which will allow current holders of their ordinary shares the right to buy more new shares at a discounted price. The price of TIP shares today is N11.60 so let's say shareholders are offered the right to buy one new share at N5 for every old share they already have.

If this man has 10 million shares, he can decide to sell off 5 million of his shares in order to get enough cash for him to buy up new 10 million shares, making his total shares 15 million. Of course, share price will dip during the period of transaction, but he seems sure that the price will rise back above N10 per share, or even higher.

The Initiates Plc is the only waste management company listed on the Nigerian Stock Exchange, NGX.

I said part.....and this is based on some of my reviews.

If you can remember, this topic was a subject of debate here in the last 2weeks. Imagine having experience hands argue about such subject without a firm resolution. this goes to show that there is a bit of lacuna there and people will definitely react to what is not understood, either in a positive or negative way. Have you not heard that people are moving their funds to TB and fixed asset investment?

Just to reiterated, I did not it say it fully responsible, but I know at least few person will find the market unattractive because of this policy, particularly that is unclear on what the govt demand is all about.

There is a need for the Govt to come out and explain in clear terms.

Good evening all.

What is wrong with the Meritrade app?
For the past few days, it's difficult accessing my account.

It keeps displaying "unexpected data format"

Anyone facing similar challenge? How did you resolve it!
I faced same challenge despite re-uploading then. I just ignored them after a while but I didn’t delete the app though. Just try the PNG format in a small size and then see if it works.

Thanks for the reply.
I want to think most of the insurance stocks are fairly priced at current price especially the good ones. Some are even over priced.
I am not really sold out for the recapitalisati narrative. The good ones have enough capital to meet the new minimum capital requirement.
If you are not doing well with small capital, you will probably not still do well with more.

Last session for the week.
It should break the bearish streak.

ASI at +0.2% or more
Market breadth at 0.5 or higher.
It's been doing 0.2, 0.3 for too long!

Most of them on full offer too.....I believe they're not on full offer because of their results or any bad news, but an attempt to further skew the market.

I am looking at MTN dipping for about 2 weeks now, from my night school of TA, I believe that if the support of 399 does not hold then it will head to 350 and test the week support there also.

The odds are that it will still do a south, however time will prove or disprove.

Okomu is also testing its 918 support, if that fails, I think it will head to a weak support at 785.

Just like the previous, time will tell.

So why are people selling if that's the case? Assuming the court-ordered meeting occurs in the next 6 months, the "last highest traded price in the past 6 months" would be about 150+. That should be the floor for the stock if that were the case.
Uncertainty on whether the company will be delisted from the exchange and go private can naturally create panic in my opinion.

Not when banks and insurance has some targets to meet.
I've said it before too, that the banks will do anything to keep the share prices up......
It may shed, but they'll still find every means to keep the price within certain level....
Any positive news, they'll quickly pump the price again...
Once the results are out and they declare good interims, the market will stabilize and moving up or down within acceptable range........na my opinion be this, na my own I talk.....who i be to fight against Mr. Market... smiley
