I was just thinking of shares left by people when they die and it is not taken over by their families. As the number of deaths begins to increase and shares not taken over, so does the quantity of outstanding shares available to sell begin to shrink.

So mathematically, will they not be a time in future assuming all previous shareholders died and their families never bothered to have their shares transferred to them?

I’m really amused when I read posts like this — the assumption that you know all the available information and can therefore judge who is dumb or not. Then the market moves, and you won’t see people like you coming out to apologize when that same stock doubles. Respect everybody’s choices. You don’t necessarily know more than the person who put their money on the line. You don’t know their time horizon, and you don’t know the game he or she is playing.

Also, you don’t judge a decision solely by its outcome. The world is probabilistic — something may work for the wrong reasons, or fail even when the reasoning is sound. Unless you know the reasoning behind a move, don’t judge. lipsrsealed
https://www.investopedia.com/investing/surprising-benefits-when-brokers-grade-their-customers/

Average individual investors who trade money are often shoved under the “dumb money” umbrella. If you fall into this category, try not to take offense. The terms “dumb money” and “smart money” were coined by the financial media, not to insult anyone’s intelligence, but to describe different groups of investors.

Big institutional investors and mutual fund companies are labeled “smart money.” These investors have somewhat of an unfair advantage over your run-of-the-mill individual investor. Armed with teams of experienced investment analysts, “smart money” investors can evaluate exactly what’s going on in the market, allowing them to make more informed investment decisions. This does not necessarily mean they always make smart decisions—in fact, plenty of them make bad trades from time to time. They simply have access to valuable information that allows them to make a more educated choice.

On the other hand, the average investor generally does not have the time, experience, or patience to methodically analyze corporate reports or the global economy. Because these investors don’t have access to teams of analysts or carefully compiled data, they often make trades based on instinct or a gut feeling. Consequently, the “dumb money” group tends to buy and sell investments at the worst possible time.

Basically If you invest in the market based on price rather than value then you are dumb money.

Exactly. As the number of deaths tend to infinity, the OS begins to tend to zero.

But really, how do they manage this, particularly in the developed world that have had a stock exchange across different centuries?

If my memory is correct, I believe I have also read about the number of bitcoins available to sell continuing to reduce as years go by and accounts get lost or owners die.

You’re going in circles here. How do you know it was price and emotions driving their decision? How do you know it wasn’t an institution placing its money there? What’s your angle in labeling a trade as “dumb money” or “smart money”?

You’re not even a technical analyst. As far as I know, if you don’t have direct knowledge of whether the investor is an institution, the closest way to spot smart money is through charts. Let’s be humble — just because your analysis says a stock is not correctly valued doesn’t mean there aren’t other ways of extracting an edge from the market. lipsrsealed

Good morning everyone. Please I need y'all input on something. A friend of mine in diaspora recently opened an account with Morgan stockbrokers they sent him a code and password for him to login to his new account. But every time he follows the code to login to the account it just opens a blank webpage it doesn't go through and he enters the code withing the stipulated timeline. This has occurred about 4 times now. He sends a mail to Morgan and then they resend him the code and the same things happen. Pls does anyone know why this is happening. He's considering switching to another stockbroker because he doesn't seem to have a solution for that. Would appreciate your prompt responses. Thank you.
let him try using a different browser

I understand fundamentals but whatever the investor that spent over a billion naira @ 12.5 saw, one need not to climb the mountain to see it. The information is common sense to say something major is coming. Those privy to the information have and are still taking position. Time will reveal and the game is the game.

Manipulation is real in penny stocks on ngx.
Take the case of SCOA.I wanted to do jijo in it when I created the jijo account this yr.I checked few things in the fundamentals. Then time to buy I noticed no volume. It was #4.00 at that time. They keep dropping 100k units at close of business to move the price. It is now #7 plus.
My observation and opinion

@ agba I told u market will reverse from Thursday last week. You sure ur tools does not need maintenance/ up grade as it said the market is going bearish..lol

It's possible for anyone in the diaspora to open a cscs/stock account.

To make the process seamless, he can use his Nigeria details ie kyc documents to avoid notarization process if foreign details are supplied.

The requirements:
Any Nigerian government issued ID card
Utility bill not older than 3 months
Passport photo
Signature.

To open account for free with investment one stockbrokers, click the third link on my signature.
Account type is individual and the product is stockbroking
