A Nigerian NYSC member, simply identified as Raye, has gone viral after sharing the reason she stopped going to church. In a trending video, the young corper explained that many of the struggles young people face are not spiritual problems but economic challenges. Eyes Of Lagos reports,

According to her, the popular belief that setbacks are caused by “village people,” family curses, or spiritual attacks is misleading. Instead, she argued that the harsh Nigerian economy is the real obstacle preventing many youths from achieving success.

Raye’s Words

In her words:

“I stopped going to church because I realized my problem was not spiritual but economic. You’re not cursed. Your family has no curse. Your village people have no effect on you. What slows you down as an average youth is growing up in an economy that makes life five times harder.

I used to believe those things until I woke up one day and said, this is not a spiritual issue. It’s simply an economic problem. I love God, but I genuinely believe nothing is pursuing me. The moment I changed my mindset, I started finding solutions and ways to break out of poverty.

Stop depending on the mindset that your problems come from your father’s side or mother’s side. That mindset itself is the real curse. The real problem is the economy, not your family.”

I live in an area where I'm surrounded by 3 different churches and I always shake my head whenever I see how and the rate at which these pulpit bandits brainwash their members....

Any negative news about the church always makes it to the front page but of you write about the nasty things going on in mosques, the thread will be deleted.

Watch how Tinubu’s Agbadorians will start singing copper Raye's praises for speaking against the church but they were calling for her head when she made the "smelling Lagos" comment.
