You are right, food is actually abundant here in Ottawa. There are food banks every where here (for low income earners and unemployed persons). I've not bought actual food since I arrived (I only buy bananas and oranges from Walmart, and Dr Pepper and Pringles from Dollarama - that's it), I've been going to food banks.
