Exactly..this is the reality.
This is the koko.
Compounding effect should be reported not the usual Y-o-y or monthly reduction as IMF and economics reports them.

Make I Expand the bracket grin

Month --> Month reports of 40%-->35%--35%-->35%->30%-->25%-->20%=
220% Compounded!!!!!❌
100%= doubled
200%= trippled!!
220%= price has more than trippled!
But on the surface, the rates of increase are reducing gradually from 40 to 35 to 30 to 25..
Who ee help? undecided.
Doesn't benefit the masses with stagnant purchasing power.❌

Simply, Nigerians need average deflation rate reports..
rate(Deflation) of
-10%--> -15%--> -5%-->-12%..✅
=-32%
Price of commodities reduced by 32%.
This is what people will feel on the streets..
The Compounded reduced effects✅
With cumulative inflation from 1999 to 2024 exceeding 2,400%, does it make sense to adopt this as the current effective inflation rate?

cheesy Lol.. Well, there should be a time frame. especially beginning from when govt takes power.

Also, yes 2400% should be compared with the effective purchasing power of the passes or minimum wage increase rate within the same time frame grin

But is this not like chicken and egg situation? Higher rates should theoretically result in lower volume thereby reducing the economic of scale whereas lower rates will result lower per income but higher volume?
Agbalowomeri:
Rate cuts means lower earnings for banks

In higher rate environment, the banks just pack money put inside treasury bill and siddon look. With rate cuts they will gradually need to hustle more to expand their loan book.

Does it mean the tall building does not have external stairs for emergency exits like in this situation, or they could not find ways to open the exit doors?

But Emefiele's LDR policy hasn't been squashed now has it?

650 bps cut with CRR at 35% helps both the economy and the banks.

What is the average transaction cost for taking up a public offer e.g in case of Sterling IPO.

Since the IPO and market price are similar, I guess the sweetner could only be the difference in the transaction charge?
Usually the maths for ro's adds up to better profits in the mid to long term, but they have not helped to make it attractive pricing the rights issue very close to market price...considering the asset will be locked for about 5- 8 weeks...

I think what CBN is also considering is FAAC. This FAAC has always been an issue to the CBN even from the time of Soludo but they tame it via money instruments.

We are now sharing FAAC of over 2 trillion naira every month and a lot of these settle in banks because lots of state Governors use private banks unlike the FG who uses CBN.

The 50% CRR is to absorb this monthly until our growth rate becomes good enough to absorb the flow and inflation gets below 10%. We are coming from an era where we printed 23 trillion naira and now we have increased naira FAAC almost fourfold.

The CBN needs to keep removing as much naira from the system and destroying them (ie not redeploying them to the system by giving them to FG to spend again).

Taiwo Oyedele has advised we share FAAC daily to solve this problem because it’s always been an headache to CBN but even more with increased FAAC.

I believe the 50% would be reduced to 25% soon but I get your point that if we are applying 50% CRR then we don’t need necessarily high interest rates to control money supply and inflation.

Such pricing is probably a strategy to discourage members of public so the directors and insiders can buy virtually all the shares

highly possible.
also I read somewhere that they instinctively followed the basement exit route for safety.
The basement is where the inverters and source of the fire originated from.
You can imagine the smoke inhalation there.

It's unfortunate really.

Your Appreciation is highly accepted.
Make Royalex your number stock in the insurance industry. It is reclaiming it's position in the insurance industry as the oldest.
Investors are currently mopping the shares in the secondary market which is reducing the free floats.
You will henceforth see a steady rise in Royalex till recapitalization
