Congratulations
Imagine and we were still talking about yesterday
Mine will come soon too in Jesus name
Pls did they reply the escalation before you got a succes mail ?
Amen!!!! Honestly ooooo!!!! I was just talking with faith oooo!!! Someone helped me called them from UK, the agent checked and said that mine was just awaiting decision as usual but the person persuaded the agent if there is anything that can be done to facilitate the decision because school has resumed and I need to prepare emotionally and otherwise. The agent said nothing but she will see to it and if I don't get any response during the week that I should call back on Friday (this Friday) but God no gree. The person told her to help because this is the 4th call and it's an escalation call, the agent now said I will get response soon, that's all ooo!! God will help ooo!!

You may want to reconfirm that you sent the requested documents according to UKVI instruction. I hope you put your application ref. no. in the subject field for easy recognition.

Please is it for MRes?

Has anyone gotten admission for MRes Jan intake? I've applied to Worcester, Gloucestershire and uel since 1st of August but no reply yet. Does it mean schools hasn't started issuing Jan offers yet?

Dear Student,

As you may know, the process for obtaining a UK visa has changed recently. Effective immediately, all students preparing to travel are being interviewed at the point of departure.

This means that it is more important that you are well prepared for this stage. Please make sure that you have all the required documents and supporting materials on hand, and be ready to answer questions about your study plans, accommodation, financial situation, and other relevant information. I need you to know that they may ask for your banking App and ask to see your financial transactions. If your answers are not satisfactory, you would not be given a fit to fly note as the case may be.

Kindly ensure your funds remain intact, your answers well polished and do not answer or give information that is not originally on your application form.

Show them you are a genuine students and do not be nervous. If you have already arrived in the UK, then, you are fine and in that case, ignore this message and pass it on to your friends yet to arrive in the UK.

Thank you,
Buchi

Hi please I have a question

I have a f1 visa denial b4 but during my school application my agent didn’t know so she didn’t declare it I already got a offer but I’m just asking, I haven’t paid anything yet, my agent say we should leave it like that and if asked in pre CAs I should also say no, cause the school would not give CAs ,but we’d declare during visa application.
So now I’m curious if I should trust her judgment or just say it still??
Anyone with similar experience or knowledge

Your agent is right, Make sure you don't declare your visa refusal to school but declare it to ukvi when applying for visa

📢

UK IMMIGRATION CHANGES – Effective from 22 July 2025
Composed by: Gbemisola Obey (FAB)
Explanation for Nigerians in the UK 🇬🇧
[Based on official government release HC 997]
✅ 1. New Salary Thresholds

The UK now requires higher salaries for Skilled Worker visas. These are the new rules:

Most Skilled Worker roles must now pay £41,700 (was £38,700).

Young workers/new entrants must earn at least £33,400.

Care workers and lower-skilled jobs: at least £28,200 (was £26,100).

Public Sector workers (NHS, councils): at least £31,300.

💥 If you're working for the NHS or Local Authority, you don’t have to meet these exact figures. As long as your pay follows official NHS pay bands, you’re fine.
E.g., a Band 3 NHS staff earning £24,967 is still eligible.
❌ 2. Care Workers – No More Family Members (Dependants)

From 22 July 2025, anyone applying as a new Care Worker (SOC 6135 or 6136):

Cannot bring husband/wife or children anymore.

This only affects new care visa applicants.

If you're already here with your family, you’re safe. Just don’t break your visa chain.

🚨 3. Student Visa Holders Can’t Switch Into Care

Students in the UK cannot switch into Care Worker roles after July 22.

You can switch into other eligible roles (e.g., NHS Healthcare Assistant) if the salary and job code are allowed.

📍 Example:
Chinyere is finishing MSc in Public Health and wants to become a senior carer — NO, she can't switch.
But if she applies for an NHS Healthcare Assistant job, and the trust agrees to sponsor, she may be eligible.
🛡️ 4. Transitional Protection (People Already in the System)

If you are already on a care visa before 22 July 2025, you can:

Extend your visa

Change employers (if same job code)

Apply for settlement (ILR) later

This protection lasts until July 2028

But you must have worked at least 3 months for the current employer.

🏥 5. Is NHS Still Safe? YES!

The NHS is still the safest route.

Even if you're earning less than £28,200 (e.g., £24,967 Band 3), it's OK — as long as the job is in the NHS or a Local Authority.

You can still bring your family, and you'll be on track for ILR.

📝 If you apply for the same role in a private care home, they must pay you £28,200+, and you can’t bring family anymore.
🧾 6. Will Care Roles Be Phased Out?

No, but they are now restricted:

Only existing care visa holders can extend or switch (within same role).

No more new student-to-care switching.

New care applicants from outside the UK can't bring dependants.

🛠️ 7. Shortage Occupation List Is Now “Temporary”

It now includes:

HR Officers

Electricians

Welders

Payroll Clerks
But you still must meet the new salary rules.

📌 FAQs:

Q: My NHS Band 3 job pays £25,000. Is that OK?
👉 YES. NHS pay scales apply, not the private care rule. You're safe.

Q: I’m on a care visa and already brought my wife/kids. Will they be sent home?
👉 NO. Your family can stay. Just don’t break your visa chain.

Q: I’m a student and want to switch to care after July. Possible?
👉 NO. That route is closed.

Q: Can my employer still sponsor me for a care job?
👉 YES, only if:

You already had the visa before July 22

You’ve worked there 3+ months

The employer is allowed to sponsor

💡 FAB Final Advice:

If you’re still delaying that NHS Application Playbook, now is the time. This is not the season to gamble.

Apply for NHS jobs and council roles more.

Don’t wait till your visa is expiring. This government means business.

Be wise. Be strategic. And most importantly — don’t move without information.
Please do NHS still gives COS for visa sponsorship while still in Nigeria?

For those who are yet to travel, please ensure you download your share code and save it, also ensure your PoF is intact because you might be asked to open your app. Some students were sent home two days ago at the airport, so pathetic!

So what happens when declared and you get denied a visa ? How will you get your deposit from the school?

Yes they do though it has drastically reduced and quite tough unlike years back. U stand a better chance if you are in the clinical line like for doctors, nursing.

Good evening sir,
Kindly guide me on how I can link my e visa,
I was told decision has been made that I will receive my mail yesterday but I didn't, today I was told mail has been sent but I didn't receive it, I now told them to escalate it.
I want to try linking and see if it will be successful.

Thank you.

CoolDecision:
This is my timeline if it helps:

Bio -- 23rd July

NSF email -- 8th August

First paid enquiry (email) -- 14th August (requested them to escalate as it's passed 15 working days for standard visa application)

CAS Used -- 15th August

Second paid enquiry (call) -- 26th August: Decision made but no email yet.

I proceeded to UKVI website and created an account, filled in the 'Link eVisa' form and behold it was successful.

Try asking them (UKVI) to escalate your issue, and contact your school to know the status of your CAS.

This can be dangerous. Very bad advice. I had 4 previous visa refusals, 1 from UK, 2 from USA, 1 from Canada. Declared these refusals to both my uni and UKVI, yet visa approved at the end of the day.

Though, I went through a rigorous application processes that involve multiple interviews, i.e., CAS application credibility interview and visa interview

Who told you that. Another bad advice. I declared multiple refusals, and I got admissions to all the three schools that I applied to; LMU, UoSIL, and UoW.

Why you think so could be because people hardly announce their visa refusals here.
