Addiction to loperamide is quiet strange. Loperamide is an antiintestinal motility which is meeant to slow down your bowel movement, and in turn reduce your frequency of stooling. It's not known to be addictive...so, I think your brain is already wired to think it's a solution to your diarrhea .
The solution, if I may surggest ,is to sick medical help and investigate the cause of your diarrhea, instead of persistently ingesting loperide.
There are many factors that could be responsible for the diarrhea, which when found could actually be treated and at the end stop the recurrence of it.
Loperamide could tilt you into having other terrible complications like nutritional deficiency in the nearest future. So put a stop t it and seek help.
Believe me, you your problem far less provided you haven't indulged in other heavily addictive substances like nicotine, narcotics etc.
Womanising is not actually a big deal, provided you are not being careless with your act. Patronage of a brothel is just a bit gross and unbifitting of a psn you earns as much as you have stated.
You can enjoy the company of clean gals with as much as you earn without visiting brothels man, wisen up.
Regarding your father's leg swelling and difficulty in urinating, I think it has nothing to do with his past history of womanising.
Leg swelling could be a symptom of a heart-related disease like hypertensive heart failure or kidney disease, so, do him some good by taking him to a good hospital for evaluation and treatment instead of having this notion about him. Secondly, his urinary challenge could be related to prostate enlargement, a medical condition common with almost every aged man. It's also treatable.
Stop harboring wrong convictions about your dad when you haven't properly investigated the cause of his problems.
Take care of yourself and your father.
Thank me later.

No, you’re not going to end like your dad; you will overcome. The fact that you openly admitted you have a problem, is the first step to victory. Keep pressing on; fall seven times, get up eight. Above all, invite Jesus into the boat of your life. He will help you to overcome the storms. Remain blessed.

Interesting. This goes against everything I know
What's Bezos, Musk and co on ? Lol

Alot of addictive activities and drinking increase Estrogen in a male body. Now past the age of 25 you’re also having diminishing testosterone levels as a guy.

Emotionally this expresses itself as rumination, depression, addiction and seeking quick dopamine .. now dopamine, depression, and dopamine seeking activities are also cyclically related aswell making it hard to break the chain once you get in a wrong motion.

Physically .. you’re weaker, hold more fat around your waist and on face, hard to maintain erection, less confident etc.

TRT and Male health is not big in Africa because of obvious miseducation and stubbornness among men but it’s the only reason I would go to Med School.

My dad is currently in a miserable state. One of his legs is swollen. He is having issues urinating properly. A man who once looked sturdy and active, now looks lean and feeble.

In earlier years, he was known for constant womanising and drinking. He was always in debt from gambling too (fled past location).

Health complications have meant that he now spends anything he solicits on drug.

Here I am, a boy of 33, doing worse atrocities than him. I feel I am young now and I can fight off any challenge, unknowingly I am complicating issues for myself. I long to stop but hard.

I started a 33 days abstinence plan which I have failed to keep. I squandered around 70k yesterday in a brothel after getting an alert of six digits.

My addictions are: std and loperamide drugs regular intake (one to fight std and the other to fight regular stooling), up to 3 carbonated drinks daily, betting, womanising, borrowing when unable to pay, junk food and masturbation.

God help us

what you are going through is likely a genetic mental disorder. It is not something you can fight on your own. You need to see a doctor asap

as long as you know your problem , you don't have a problem , the only problem you have is that you are not ready ,determined and serious to have a change of habit and life style. unfortunately it is better you change now voluntarily and conditionally before life gives you an unconditional choice of either changing by force or going down six feet into the earth dead . a classic example is your dad , he has no choice now other than to change now that he has health complications . no motivational talk or prayer is gonna change you if you don't determine and force a change . YOU ARE THE ONE THAT HAS THE CHOICE AND POWER TO MAKE THE CHANGE .

Addictions are demonic and is only Christ that can free you from such bondage. Sincerely give you life to Christ and change the course of your life , don't end up like your dad because you weren't proud of his lifestyle, self-realization is the beginning of freedom. Christ is the solution to your problems
Nothing demonic about addictions.
He doesn't need prayers to stop any addiction.if he wants to.

He simply lacks self control.

Give your life to Jesus Christ, look for a bible believing Church and start following there, Winners, RCCG, mountain of Fire, RCN, DUNAMICS, follow commanding the day by Paul Enenche every 11pm for midnight prayers. Study the Bible everyday. You will be free in 3months in Jesus name. Morality can't defeat demonic orchestration, only Jesus can.

Seriously I don’t know how you people get addicted to all these things, I’m not saint but I always have this self control to stop my self when any time I’m doing all these things. For example if I drink two bottle of bear today and in the next one month I won’t go near it, betting is once in moon light.

Self control matters a lot in a man life, and learn how to talk to yourself.

I don't know why Nairaland bans mentions of the face of United B of A. However, look at his physique compared to other CEO's his age or even Senior pastor of HOTR. I guess it's a niche service in Nigeria because of how we generally gate keep information.

Also as a health provider in Nigeria it makes perfect sense to keep it lowkey and tailored to those groups, I mean I made a post and some guy tried to sensationalize Testosterone in this cheap access to information age.

I mean there's no single mention of a psychiatrist or therapist on this thread .. but people would tell you to go to a Pastor. It's hard for effective healthcare to thrive in this kind of environment.

He who sins is of the devil, for the devil has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy the works of the devil.

I pray God have mercy upon us and help us to be a new creation in Christ Jesus and live a holy life pleasing in the sight of God in Jesus Name, Amen.
