Traders most often than investors make a bullish market.

Are you in the market to make money or claim ownership? cool
And investors are in the market to make bearish market. I am in the market to write my name on thr register and hear the bell ring

Please can anyone tell me why Fidelity bank fell like a pack of cards today. Lost maximum 10% today (i didn't see this coming).I am suspecting difficulties in meeting this recapitalization exercise. If they can't do it alone, it is better to merge with bank on the same cadre or better still jettison the international license. But, if it allow itself to be acquired it will be a different story. It is better to make hay when the sun shines. If they leave it for last minute they will just enter any agreement anyhow. ( My layman understanding grin)

And it came to pass that the market was cast down, shaken by the winds of devaluation,
and the people’s hearts were troubled.

But behold, I lift mine eyes,
and I see a dawn arising in the land;
the ashes give way to light,
and the bourse of Nigeria shall be restored.

Thus saith the Spirit concerning Dangote Cement:
The stone which the builders cast low
shall be made a cornerstone once more;
its strength shall endure,
and its yield shall multiply.

Concerning MTN Nigeria, it is written:
Though the voice was silenced by the tempest,
it shall yet speak again across the land;
its signal shall not fail,
and those who believe shall not be ashamed.

And of Oando ... the favoured one, hear this word:
Though fire hath tried it,
though debts have compassed it about,
still shall its wells flow with abundance,
and the oil thereof shall anoint
the hands of those that hold fast.

Verily, the market that was fallen shall arise,
and the treasures that were hidden shall be revealed.
The faithful who sow in patience
shall reap a harvest in due season.

Capital Gains Tax liability is triggered when an investor's annual portfolio turnover surpasses ₦150 million, generating a net gain in excess of ₦10 million. The tax is assessed on the aggregate net gain of the entire portfolio, rather than on the gains from individual securities.

So I interpret this to mean that first your portfolio must cross 150 million, and then the aggregate net gain must be in excess of 10 million. Meaning both conditions must be true for me to be taxable if I’m interpreting it correctly.

Not likely a big fry because of the small volume
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 3:23am On Sep 27, 2025
For whatever reasons NGX didn't stream the session with Mr Taiwo yesterday.

However, I have good news:

Straight from the official gazette:

1. Our loots are never taxable as long as we reinvest, only the univested portions are chargeable gains.
That's the part relevant to me 😁😁😁

2. The 150m and N10m gains thresholds are there too.

Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 3:24am On Sep 27, 2025
If you have the gazette, it's on page 32 or page A418!

This is super exciting!
