Agbalowomeri:Most players aren't just gonna exit na, so we should be good. Even ACA, If they plug the proceeds back to FIDELITY or SEPLAT, Their gains won't be tax chargeable. |

awesomeJ:Yeah most big players would likely reinvest and that’s the aim actually. |

This is the time we know if this government actually wants to save Nigeria or not. It's time to ban PENGASSAN. If they stop crude oil supply to Dang refinery, the refinery will simply import from other countries and Una Naira go carry the consequences except if they don't want the Naira to appreciate.

Your employer got a 10 year contract to supply a major customer, yet the workers want to frustrate the agreement. Where do you want your employer to get funds to pay your salaries and run the business? The customer can sue your employer for breach of contract. They have also stopped supply of crude, meaning he will have to rely on foreign supplies. Reason why the company stopped receiving payments in Naira

pluto09:You all are always quick to compare... yet they have a working government and we don't. Have been in kenya for years now and you can actually see what the Governement is doing with the taxes.. yet in Nigeria the case is different, all they do is steal. They claim they got more revenue after subsidy removal yet can't point to one reasonable thing they have done... just more taxes and money for them to steal. |

emmanuelewumi:If let unrestricted, PENGASSAN will transfer dangote refinery into the list of Nigeria's many failed refineries. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 4:12pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Mpeace:NUPENG led by Kokori and PENGASSAN destroyed the refineries in 1993 during the June 12 crisis There are unconfirmed report that some Nigerian workers tried burning down some section of the refinery this week, which led to the action taken by the company. 55% of the crude supply is currently gotten locally, while 45% are imported. |

vizboy:What do u expect if one is benefiting from the corruption/looting happening in the government |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 4:38pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:What the hell. Then alhaji has to sack many and stand his ground on no union in his business. If they push him he should stop of refined products locally. The government will not act now by arresting the Union leaders and ban the group. They add no value in the whole business chain to the consumers |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 4:40pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:All these might also be caused and financed by importers My opinion though |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 5:08pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:Exactly on point. Otherwise, it's better to sell at current Price(CP) and reinvest gains of 50%, 100%,200%,500%,2000% etc at the same CP so the supposed "taxable gains" become part of your Capital for the stock.. QED. |

Lofty1000:It's possible to work with brokers no doubt but it's much easier with banks in Nigeria. That's usually the rule. Nevertheless, he was specifically quoting crypto exchanges cuz users think they can bypass Nigerian banks and thus the tax system from @1hr 44min 10sec. I don't think he mentioned working closely with brokers to check portfolio. Please quote the timeframes in that video please. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 5:30pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
chimex38:He can not work with brokers If u sell a stock and the money has not left ur broker account to ur bank account. It can not be seen as money leaving and won't be considered as gain yet.It is believed the money is still thr for reinvestment which is exempted from CGT It is only when money hits ur bank account it can be scrutinized for gains. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 5:41pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
unite4real:I don't think it will be retrospective. If you watch that video initially shared by @Yemy3m Specially from 1hr:29:18 to 1hr:31:18 to buttress same point again, he mentioned it in crypto again @ 1hr:44:10sec. He specifically mentioned: Net Gain(Gain-Loss) within a calender yr is what will be taxed as against this current old system of taxing only gains. So they can't possibly tax your current percentage gain in isolation.. Even if the would go back in years like 5yrs (which is highly unlikely), they will have to NET your current gains from your accumulated losses in each of those years for fairness... But like I said, it's highly unlikely to follow this route |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 5:45pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Streetinvestor2:exactly. it makes reinvestment proceeds meaningless.. I have pointed it out to him. I just want to grant him the benefit of doubt |

| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 7:45pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
A journalist friend with the defunct National Concord newspaper, he covered labour union activities informed that an insider in the union reliably informed him that what the workers did to the 3 refineries they can never be productive again and if repaired can't be profitable for the owners. Since mid 90s after the crisis, we relied on importation for local consumption |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Mpeace(m): 8:23pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:What PENGASSAN just did is not different from what gave rise to the declaration of state of emergency in Rivers state. Why take such decision that threaten the supply of petroleum products and the economy as a whole. They took it too far. Lets see how the government react. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by unite4real: 9:06pm On Sep 27, 2025 |
Mpeace:Some of the entities behind the doom of the petroleum industry in Nigeria are gradually showing their ugly faces. Until the masses rise up against these demi gods who are bent on holding down the system from moving forward, they will keep doing neck pressing and dancing to the tunes of their paymasters who are angry about subsidy removal and the stoppage of importation of refined products. Enough should be enough |
