Just because you were not asked doesn't mean others weren't.

Is this what you could make out of the primary experiences shared here? So sad!
Please why not quietly give your experience or at best, if you want, constructively respond to opinions you wish to react to, than being overly insulting and provoking.

You should be able to note before that it's better for our brothers and sisters in here to travel prepared to face any of those situations that were highlighted in this thread should they come up at any point than being caught up unaware.

So, this insult (taking us to be liers and fear-mongers for sharing our experiences) is uncalled for as you may have so many other ways of driving home your opinions without insulting anyone.
I am personally concerned because comments like yours can be detrimental to the fundamental goals of this platform.

Go and pick up your passport but its not for visa decision, your passport is not needed anymore for visa stamp as they are now using e-visa

Your passport is just for proof of ID, when decision is made on your application you will receive an e-visa

But you people can shaa come with some funny stuff pls which one is transferring tuition balance again ?? God abeg!!! I think we should stop spreading this app thing so that it doesn't affect people later. If they ask and you want to say it on the platform, say it, dont make it look like its another mandatory thing for everyone coming before they will start enforcing by force .

I traveled 2 days ago, so maybe i should share my experience.

Make sure you generate your share code on ukvi site cuz you will need it when you want to create a profile(at least for Virgin atlantic. Don't know for other airlines). After going through the normal Nigerian airport check, we landed in Heathrow and then i met a looooong queue at the Uk border. When it got to my turn, i presented only my passport, the border officer only asked me what i came to the uk to do, the name of my school, the course name, the duration of my course and when am to resume. She then asked me to thumbprint. That was all. And for most people i boarded with, the conversation didn't take a minute in some cases. It maybe because the queue was long and they needed to attend to people as quick as possible. But there was no serious question as regards Pof or life after study. She didn't even request for my documents, neither did the other border officer ask people for their documents other than their passport. So, don't panic. Know the basics things about your course and all should go well.

These are interesting times.

From 22 July 2025, anyone applying as a new Care Worker (SOC 6135 or 6136):

Cannot bring husband/wife or children anymore.

This only affects new care visa applicants.

If you're already here with your family, you’re safe. Just don’t break your visa chain.

🚨 3. Student Visa Holders Can’t Switch Into Care

Students in the UK cannot switch into Care Worker roles after July 22.

You can switch into other eligible roles (e.g., NHS Healthcare Assistant) if the salary and job code are allowed.

📍 Example:
Chinyere is finishing MSc in Public Health and wants to become a senior carer — NO, she can't switch.
But if she applies for an NHS Healthcare Assistant job, and the trust agrees to sponsor, she may be eligible.
🛡️ 4. Transitional Protection (People Already in the System)

If you are already on a care visa before 22 July 2025, you can:

Extend your visa

Change employers (if same job code)

Apply for settlement (ILR) later

This protection lasts until July 2028

But you must have worked at least 3 months for the current employer.

🏥 5. Is NHS Still Safe? YES!

The NHS is still the safest route.

Even if you're earning less than £28,200 (e.g., £24,967 Band 3), it's OK — as long as the job is in the NHS or a Local Authority.

You can still bring your family, and you'll be on track for ILR.

📝 If you apply for the same role in a private care home, they must pay you £28,200+, and you can’t bring family anymore.
🧾 6. Will Care Roles Be Phased Out?

No, but they are now restricted:

Only existing care visa holders can extend or switch (within same role).

No more new student-to-care switching.

New care applicants from outside the UK can't bring dependants.

🛠️ 7. Shortage Occupation List Is Now “Temporary”

It now includes:

HR Officers

Electricians

Welders

Payroll Clerks
But you still must meet the new salary rules.

Q: My NHS Band 3 job pays £25,000. Is that OK?
👉 YES. NHS pay scales apply, not the private care rule. You're safe.

Q: I’m on a care visa and already brought my wife/kids. Will they be sent home?
👉 NO. Your family can stay. Just don’t break your visa chain.

Q: I’m a student and want to switch to care after July. Possible?
👉 NO. That route is closed.

Q: Can my employer still sponsor me for a care job?
👉 YES, only if:

You already had the visa before July 22

You’ve worked there 3+ months

The employer is allowed to sponsor

Please what does this one mean again? Bio August 7th..interview around August 12th. I made a paid enquiry since Sep 6th and they said decision made.
I linked my evisa, nothing there. I inquired again and they escalated on September 12th.
Today this email.....so they didn't even make any decision yet and they said they did. Na wa oooo..

Do people who are refused a visa also get access to the ‘link your eVisa’ option and receive a reference number after linking?

I don’t think anything else can be done…. it’s just a matter of waiting patiently. As for linking the eVisa, I only came across that information on this forum.

So lemme give some quick info from my research online..

3. I dont think paid calls/emails actually does much, I have read of people that got decision made emails, only to escalate and then get a "please ignore any previous correspondece message" email from Sheffield escalation team

4. You cannot truly know your status till you receive a success or refusal email

5. The only thing one can do is to wait... I've read of people contacting local MP and school. School can help escalate your case but most times they cannot do beyond that..

To be honest, this is tiring and frustrating. some of us have been waiting since July... My biometrics was on August 20th and still waiting

Decision Made is one nonsense generic response. Got that 2x after paid enquiry. Mailed school to interfere, they did and turns out my application hasn't been decided🙄. Did a paid call to withdraw application they are still standing on decision made, which decision 🤔

Some schools have resumed, enrollment deadline is around the corner and we are still waiting for decision mail. This is totally not fair. Most schools are saying if you don't resumed after the enrollment deadline you will defer . It's draining.I swear.
