megawealth01:They have always frustrated all attempts to restructure NNPC. They bullied Yar Adua to reverse the sale of the refineries by Obasanjo. The mistake Obasanjo made was that he sold 51% shares of the refineries towards the end of his second term. If he had done it during his first term, it would have been impossible to reverse the sale of the moribund refineries |

That's not exactly how he puts it. He said the law does not ask for the legality or otherwise of taxable incomes. It simply taxes your income. SonofElElyonRet: |

At times it is as if PENGASSAN are the foot soldiers for some powerful people in government |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 10:14am On Sep 30, 2025 |
GeneralDae:NNPC should also get subsidized forex which they can use to make their 3 refineries productive. Is that so difficult for them to do |

emmanuelewumi:When we talk now. They will say he is not aware. The masquerade dancing on the road has his drummer in the bush Watin dey give bloody civilian power to shut down critical infrastructure of the country ...pls pardon my French |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 10:18am On Sep 30, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:Exactly. It also seems they are fronting for some of the oil/gas marketers or they are actually the promoters and owners behind some or most of the oil and gas importers and marketers who are now taking a big hit due to the coming on board of Dangote refinery. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 10:20am On Sep 30, 2025 |
GeneralDae:Yet Dangote refinery is now helping the FX situation, overseas students too, one might say are helping via remittances. But the round trippers that got the largest chunk, what benefits are we getting from them? Maybe pengassan should go be on their own neck. Abi the annoying looters that stashed out common wealth in Dubai and Switzerland ![]() |

megawealth01:Tinubu does not have power to ban the union. It is a very powerful union and they are ready to fight dirty knowing fully well they have nothing to loose. Even abacha as a military head of state found them difficult to handle. The earlier the issues are resolved the better for the country, hopefully the president will step in and bring a solution. |

Agbalowomeri:Is he in the country because he is never aware of serious things when they are happening What reason again did he give when he declared emergency rule in rivers over national infrastructure |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 10:27am On Sep 30, 2025 |
mygee2:You need to ask them for the modalities: 1. You may request for details of their bank account that you can pay into, if they are the ones to trade for you after you fill and send trade mandates/instructions. 2. You can ask them the procedure if your are to fund your account and trade online by yourself using their online platform |

emmanuelewumi:Those refineries are better sold. Refurbishing them is a waste of money, even if they start working, they would probably be running at a lost. We can't run refineries as a government enterprise and expect it to be profitable. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 10:31am On Sep 30, 2025 |
pluto09:They were proscribed (banned) during the military era. They had very huge influence at the time the nation relied on the NNPC refineries at that time and they were the workers who determined whether the NNPC refineries would work or not. But things are changing gradually with the coming on board of Dangote refinery. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 10:32am On Sep 30, 2025 |
mikeapollo:With Cardinal Stone onboarding process, you just fill everything online from the get go and once complete, you are registered and that’s done. They just need a few days to verify your documents after that. It seems onboarding with Morgan is a little bit more complex but then they make up for it with very low fees though. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 10:34am On Sep 30, 2025 |
mikeapollo:The oil and gas marketers, importers, subsidy scammers are in government and in NNPC. No be PENGASSAN say Port Harcourt refinery was operational after over $1 billion was spent on it last year or thereabout. Why PENGASSAN no shout say na lie, the refinery is not working |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 10:35am On Sep 30, 2025 |
pluto09:We can run it using the NLNG model where we own 49% and private sector 51% but the private sector operates it. |

This is excellent. However these arguments should have been made earlier. Where was the NGX and the investors when the law was made and passed? otomatic: |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 10:36am On Sep 30, 2025 |
pluto09:If they had been sold off for free or even for less than $0, the country would have been better off, cos we would probably had still had the $18bn wasted on TAM, that's if they wouldn't have looted it. Now part of the debt taken for the wastage, they'll still tax innocent citizens to pay. Na Kyari borrow, na common man dey pay more taxes to shore up govt revenue. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 10:37am On Sep 30, 2025 |
pluto09:He has the power when they sabotage the economy or become a terrorist. Stopping gas supply to Dangote Refinery, when NNPC and Dangote Refinery signed a 10 year contract for the supply of 100 million metric feet on a daily basis. This is a breach of a legally binding contract that can cost NNPC a fortune if challenged in the court |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by GeneralDae: 10:38am On Sep 30, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:They said the refinery actually worked but it seems the start up was premature because it was running at a loss and struggling to reach that capacity where it would be even profitable. Crude oil is costly and so if you are not making profit after injecting it into a refinery, you are better off shutting down the refinery and continuing with repairs. The new management could not allow it keep running at a loss just to prove a point and had to carry out a technical review. The premature start up by Mele Kyari (due to pressure) was said to have done more harm than good |

awesomeJ:Whereas Blue star that was promoted by Dangote and Otedola bought 51% share of the refineries for almost $1 billion in 2007. But PENGASSAN said national assets were sold at giveaway prices, whereas the remaining 49% would be sold to Nigerians so they we can also buy at that giveaway price. They succeeded in bullying Yar Adua to reverse the sale, |

Agbalowomeri: ![]() He go still collect if he does not drop that crazy CGT experiment. That thing would be a big disaster if it should be implemented. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 10:43am On Sep 30, 2025 |
emmanuelewumi:What they are doing is definitely wrong. The problem is their influence on the economy, they know they can call out their members on a strike and that will affect all aspects of our oil industry and revenue. |
