Don't tell me it is not possible grin grin grin
It will be harmonized like BVN.
several Bank account with different bank account numbers are linked to BVN for your unique identity.
Either using NIN as Tax ID(most likely).

This is not possible. The payments must have been inflated by the people at NNPC

Salaries of about N120 billion paid every year to workers of dead refineries.

Excluding hundreds of millions of dollars for Turn Around Maintenance almost every year

Don't you think is better for the remaining workers to resign enmasse and teach him a lesson.

I don't like nonsense
Isn’t it better for other employers to sack every PENGASSAN member??
Let every employer stop all this nonsense.

Let’s not get petty on these matter.

Who no like better thing grin
emmanuelewumi:
We discussed this Dangote Refinery and PENGASSAN issue on a WhatsApp group on Sunday for over 6 hours.

I was surprised that the PENGASSAN guys yabbing Dangote Refinery said they would buy Dangote Refinery shares whenever the IPO is out

At the expense of other Nigerians.

That is why they will frustrate all attempts to privatize the government owned refineries and also use some Nigerian workers to kill the only functional refinery that is owned by Dangote

Baba, hold your government accountable.

This is the way we digress. Let’s remain within subject. Let’s discuss what the law says and things of such.
I like when you talked about court and the rest.

Sir, with all due respect. This is WRONG!!!
Please be objective.

Lols.. it’s not always about money.
If Exxon and Total does this-sacking 800, will this still be your response?
Dangote got it wrong when he sacked all of them.

Sir, I give you for free that Dangote will NOT win this.
I will quote you once this is over.
I can bet u he will win unless the president is supporting the other group Let them try the rubbish in other people private business and see.Alhaji is a gentleman that is why they even have guts. What happened to does lecturers that was sacked then in uni ilorin till date

If it hits my bank account(withdrawal)as against my broker account and then I change my mind and reinvest the proceeds back into a stock.

Another case is reinvesting dividends that usually hits the account.
Will i still be taxed just because it hit my account?
CGT should not be collected on dividends.

Look, no worker wants to lose his/her job because of any union. I am sure many of them would be regretting by now.
Unionism is good, but we have to be careful in this matter because of our unfortunate experience with NNPC refineries and how the masses had suffered queuing for fuel at filling stations for days..

If Dangote insists on sacking the 800 workers, he can do it easily and even heavy damages and compensation for it, just to kill unionism in the refinery for life!
I agree with you on this.
But then he could have come out to tell them he doesn’t want union. Why allow it and sack them afterwards.

You’re on point though.

And the workers no shout or protest.

We know the number of workers and the salaries, it should not be more than N20 billion but you are claiming N120 billion per annum.

You can't be using the workers to o cash out addigional N100 billion per annum .

All efforts made by government to audit the staff and change the status quo were always resisted.

And you think the workers are not culpable to this scam

I estimate that about 20% - 35% will be listed.

FOte$ already holds a good chunk (about 5%), NNPCL about 7.2%

awesomeJ:
20 billion shares listed 2500 per share I'm guessing. (At a $34bn valuation)

They are at the national level, because they are mainly NNPC workers. Because na dem get time for it

They made sure the sale of the refineries was reversed, which has caused us almost $20 billion for turnaround maintenance and another N2 Trillion in salaries in the past 18 years on zero revenue refineries.

They are also behaving as if they are on the payroll of importers and Europe based refineries owners, who are gradually closing shop because of Dangote Refinery is in operation

You seem to be in support of shutting everything down and at the same time you support going to court.

Remaining workers to resign ke? Can you do that?
There are better qualified unemployed hands outside who would jump to accept the same jobs immediately! Who has union helped in Nigeria where it is survival of the fittest.

When it is time for them to pay rent to landlord, they can go and call union to help them pay!

Is it legal for brokerage account owner identity to be different from receiving account name identity?
Like opening account for a relative but still retaining receiving account(dividend, withdrawals, etc)

Saying below in church is gross

President Bola Tinubu’s tax czar, Taiwo Oyedele, says all Nigerians, including ladies engaging in prostitution popularly called “runs,” are mandated to pay tax per the new tax reforms set to be enforced in January 2026.

In the eyes of the new tax law, Mr Oyedele explained, there are no distinctions between legitimate income and illicit funds.

Mr Oyedele, who chairs the Presidential Committee on Fiscal Policies and Reforms, on Saturday, educated members of the Redeemed Christian Church of God, City of David parish in Lagos, on the reforms of the tax law signed by Mr Tinubu in June.

The administration, according to Mr Oyedele, will levy taxes on all services rendered in exchange for money, a rule he explained applies to sexual transactions.

“If somebody is doing run girls, they go and look for men to sleep with; you know that’s a service,” Mr Oyedele explained to the RCCG congregation. “They will pay tax on it.”

The tax czar further stated that the law itself does not have the capacity to distinguish between income obtained from legitimate means and illegitimate ones; hence, all income is deemed taxable.

“One thing about the tax law is it doesn’t separate whether what you’re doing is legitimate or not; it doesn’t even ask you. It just asks you whether you have an income. Did you get it from rendering a service or providing a good? You pay tax,” Mr Oyedele said.
This is how it was reported but not how he presented it in context in the video.

He actually gave a caveat before using the example.
1)He said sth in the line of "this is not what should be said in a church but....."
2)It wasn't a church service but the venue was used for the enlightenment seminar.
3) the goal was to use an example the people could relate to.
4) most explanations in the Bible about Israel and their fall to idol worshippers uses the so "prostitute analogy"
From Old Testament till Revelation.
This is obviously what people will relate with more in understanding that all service rendering is taxable

Are you sure about the bolded?

Anyway, I don't think he will ban them because conservatively 70% of these unionists/workers are linked to the Niger Delta and he would not want them to 'return to the creeks'...
On point.
But I still go with Mpeace.
DR is as strategic as the Chaotic political scenario in River State that blew up National assets and pipelines..
It requires immediate attention for continuity..
It's continuous operation at this recovery moment is critical.
Has so many positive ripple effect for the Masses and the FG as a whole

That's exactly how he says it. It was inappropriate for him he said that. He said the law doesn't care if the income is legal or not
Other laws, body and agent of govt should account for what's legal or not..
Tax laws simply collects tax on what's obtainable..QED

You’re on point though.
It would be wrong and unlawful for him to say so explicitly.
It is now left to the workers to read his body language and the handwriting on the wall and decide whether they want work at his refinery or look for work elsewhere.

Lols. I understand your plight… This Union in a way check/balance the foreign investors. Workers were literally treated a slaves.
It’s sad it’s our own person that wants to go this route.

Trust me, many IOcs have been on this path and they all knows how it turns out. I’m sure many would have called Dangote on this .

Let’s see what the resolution will be
IOCs are strategic in Nigeria, hence co-owned by FG via NNPC 40%-60%,etc. Hence the FG has a strong say in decisions Plus cabals in FG (probably via PENGASSEN grin) have a strong say as well.

DR is also strategic but Fortunately or Unfortunately, not co-owned ENOUGH by FG; s
so for the first time a strategic entity is almost privately runned while holding the stakes!
Not even strategic companies of DISCOS, GENCOS or NLNG have that almost absolute private control.
So it's becomes difficult for FG to maintain it's sovereign control of the country directly. Hence probably indirectly.

So you think PENGASSAN can decide or impose workers on Dangote refinery if Dangote is truly determined to not employ them? The worst case would be payment of damages and financial entitlements to the affected workers

The reversal of the sale of the refineries by Yar Adua was one of the decisions taking by a sitting president that really pained me.

Another one was by GEJ when he allowed vested interest to bully prof Barth Nnaji out of the power ministry.
Bart NNAJI wasn't bullied out.
It was conflict of interest.
His Power company was also partaking in the bid process.
Unfortunately the law didn't allow conflict of interest.
But I agree with you.
It was painful
