Hello guys, Wanna jump on the lexus wagon. Is GS350 2008 - 2010 advisable to buy in 2025. and what and what should i look into before purchase. Just want something different from an ES/IS sedan. Also, what kind of maintaineance should i expect...parts and fuel type. ( since we no get Premium fuel) ![]() Thanks in advance. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by kingreign(m): 3:07pm On Sep 22, 2025 |
dejavu2018:The GS is a better built car compared to the ES. It's a grand tourer and it's a tank. But parts are slightly more expensive than the ES |

Joeeasy:How much was the engine when you bought it? |
| Re: Club-Lexus by kingreign(m): 9:53pm On Sep 26, 2025 |
Joeeasy:Spun bearing was the cause of the noise. This is primarily caused by: 1. Poor quality/fake oil filter, 2. Over revved engine, 3. Over heating, 4. Poor quality oil, low oil levels 5. Delay in oil change, 6. Oil contaminated with fuel or coolant. |

| Re: Club-Lexus by kingreign(m): 7:45am On Oct 01, 2025 |
AfDapone:It's from the output shaft, the oil seal is bad. Pull out the shaft, replace the seal with a genuine toyota seal, put back the shaft and top up the ATF. |

Geekels:Great choice looking at the Lexus ES 350 (2009) — it’s a solid, reliable car when well maintained. Since this is your first car, let’s break it down simply: ✅ Common things to watch out for on this model • Oil leaks (especially from the valve cover or timing cover). • Cooling system issues — overheating, radiator leaks, or bad water pump. • Suspension noise — clunks or knocks when driving over bumps. • Dashboard problems — sticky/melting dash in some cars. • A/C faults — common on older models. 🔍 What to look for during inspection 1. Start the car cold — no knocking or smoke. 2. Test drive — smooth gear shifts, no jerks. 3. Check A/C, lights, windows, radio, etc. 4. Look under the car for leaks or rust. 5. Ensure no warning lights (Check Engine, ABS, Airbag) are showing. 6. Confirm mileage and, if possible, service history. 👨🔧 Inspection & trusted hands Since you said it’s your first car, don’t go alone. Always take a trusted technician with you. At Ryan Automotive Limited, we offer full computerized pre-purchase inspection and diagnostic checks, so you don’t waste your hustle money on a bad car. We’ll scan the car, check engine, suspension, transmission, accident/flood signs — and give you a full report before you pay. ⸻ 🚗 Ryan Automotive Limited Precision. Transparency. Please house I need help, After washing my car in a car wash today, RX350 2010. it refuse to start. I have to change the battery and it started, then I put my own battery, then after driving for some while the battery sign and electric steering sign came up and the car went off, I have to put it another battery and drove for like 1 minute but the battery sign remains on. After some while, the battery sign and steering sign came up again and the car went off. Now the technician is saying that is the alternator is bad, that is not charring the battery very well. That I have to replace the alternator. Please what could be the problem? |
| Re: Club-Lexus by oluwaseunla(m): 5:38pm On Oct 02, 2025 |
Chidimercy:Your technician could be right. Is the battery light on when the car is running? They can run a test on the charging system to pin point what the issue may be. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by Chidimercy: 6:04pm On Oct 02, 2025 |
oluwaseunla:Yes the battery light is on when the car is running. |

If u wan to buy accidented car from abroad.make e be fender damage..rear or front bumper damage..door damage...but u see frame damage..engine damage..fuse box damage..brain box damage..ac damage.....run tyioasvgajs: |
| Re: Club-Lexus by oluwaseunla(m): 10:12pm On Oct 02, 2025 |
Chidimercy:Likely a bad alternator then. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by Chidimercy: 5:51am On Oct 03, 2025 |
oluwaseunla:Thank you. So what's best? Change the alternator to a used or fix the alternative by technicians. This is the options I am giving. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by oluwaseunla(m): 8:48am On Oct 03, 2025 |
Chidimercy:Usually, the person fixing the alternator should be able to give the best advice about that, after opening the malfunctioning alternator. He will be able to assess and advise accordingly. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by dejavu2018: 8:37am On Oct 05, 2025 |
AfDapone:So a car that requires premium should be fine in the long run, yeah? |
| Re: Club-Lexus by HeavenlyBang(m): 4:36pm On Oct 05, 2025 |
dejavu2018:No. Fuel sold in Nigeria is one of the worst in the world, quality-wise. I don't know about Dangote, though. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by bravolad(m): 6:29am On Oct 06, 2025 |
Elui2:Your question is already answered by @kingreign however, I will just add that it'd better to replace your radiator with the same spec it came with (single cell) but you won't find it in the Nigerian market except you want to order it oversea. |

Geekels:Any other advice on this |
| Re: Club-Lexus by oluwaseunla(m): 9:22am On Oct 06, 2025 |
Geekels:Are you buying a toks or Nigerian used? Engine is the 2gr-fe, pretty bullet proof if well taken care of. Transmission is sealed and if not properly maintained, it's expensive to replace if it breaks. |
| Re: Club-Lexus by Geekels: 12:16pm On Oct 06, 2025 |
oluwaseunla:Thank you Planning to buy a toks actually, I dont want to enter nigerian used car wahala |
