I am 40 years old and I could still recall my childhood memories.
My mum is the cause of my problem right from day one.
She subjected me to severe pains as a child.
Here is my story
I was born with yellow colour teeth and this really made me an introvert.
It was through her I knew I was born with yellow teeth.
Each time I talk and make mistake in family gathering as a child .
She will mock me and tell me yellow teeth .
My teeth is smelling and so.
That very talk tormeted my life and made me loose interest in life.
Because of that, I grew up as a child not talking with people for fear of being called decayed teeth or my teeth is smelling.
This lowered my self confidence.
Evan in my primary and my secondary school days.
I stay alone.
I don't mingle with people because of the fear of being called yellow teeth or my teeth is smelling.
My life was marred by lack of self confidence because of she gave birth to me and decided to make my life miserable.
Calling yellow teeth and smelling mouth.
I can never forgive this woman.
She made my childhood miserable which affected my life.
I could remember how she use to call and shower praises on our neigbours kids , pretty , handsome , fine Charley and names that build kids confidence.

Your mother was responsible for your problem when you were a kid. You have become an adult. If your mouth still smells now that you are an adult, you are responsible for your problem because you are old enough to do something about the mouth odour.

Revenge doesn't heal the pain. Revenge does not get the offender repented. Forgiveness heals the pain and puts the offender in a remorseful mood. The energy you want to use for the vengeance should be channelled towards looking for a cure for your smelly mouth.

People that don't have religious mum don't know What God had done in their life.

As for the part of still blaming your mom up till now when you're 40yo,bro,that ain't necessary at all......If most of us here should have a podium and talk about our families,time no go reach...... Instead, think of how to solve the problem and how to build your self confidence by yourself....

It may not be easy, but try to forgive your mum, not just because of her, but for yourself.
To free yourself from the bitterness and resentments you have harboured for so long.
She hurt the child in you deeply, yes, but try to forgive her, and let go.
Most mothers/fathers made that mistake, to be honest.

When she had her children she tried to shout at one of them for having yellow teeth. I reminded her that she is uneducated and if she knew how to read she’d find out that enamel takes time to appear, that the child just got his new teeth so -back off!-

I was 17 years old when I read her for filth and I really hurt her feelings by highlighting her lack of education. It sweet me die! 🤣🤣🤣

And I saved my nephews and nieces from trauma.

So sorry about what you’ve had to go through. I just don’t understand some parents. They treat their children as if they hate them. How could a mother look at a child she gave birth to… a child that was vulnerable and totally dependent on her… cried for her and yearned for her approval… and just kill that child’s self esteem? It baffles me. I just can’t call it anything but cruelty.

You have a right to feel hurt. But don’t hurt your mom. Instead, be a better person than her. Promise yourself that even towards death, you will never do what she did to you, to anyone else.

At least you will have the assurance that you’ll always be better than her.

Some parents and relatives really are the cause of their children's low self esteem in life! Some do this out of ignorance while others may be deliberate.

As a parent, it is your responsibility to build your children's self esteem! Nothing kills a child's self esteem like body shaming! So, if outsiders call your child "big head", yellow teeth, smelly mouth, big nose etc , you have a duty to even fight such body shamers and restore your child's self esteem. FYI, this loss of self esteem does not just end with childhood, it can persist and even worsen in adulthood and prevent your children from being the best they were meant to be!

It can drive some children into antisocial lifestyles, drug addiction etc! Many children have been prevented from reaching their potentials because they never THOUGHT themselves good enough due to years of self esteem destructions! Also, remember that even your enemies and haters understand the effect of self esteem destruction on your children, so they'll target your children with that and may eventually succeed in destroying their self esteem and confidence, and by so doing, they render your children miserable and useless!

So, guard and guide your children's self esteems!

Leave revenge alone. It doesn't benefit anybody.
Try to find a way to heal from your trauma.
Then resolve to be a better parent who your children will grow up to be proud of.
