You're thinking just like the woman. You think this man treats his side chick better than than his wife.

Fact is: No side chick is remotely close to being treated as good as the wife.

The point is that suggestions that men treat their side chicks better are based on a very narrow viewpoint because this wife came to a conclusion based on a single fact she found out. He took someone to a nice hotel. He has not taken me there. Proved: He's treating her better than me.

The fact, however, is that in the grand scheme of things, no man treats his side chick better than the wife. It's always the wife first, so whatever he does for the side chick, the wife already got far more. All the story proves is that men treat their side chicks DIFFERENTLY from their wives. I would ask you for a stat to prove this claim, which you make here, suggesting that most divorced women go on to become sidechicks. Where is the backing for this claim? An unnamed analyst makes a claim, and we are supposed to believe it is fact? What this is saying is that a great number of Nigerian married men have divorced women for sidechicks, abi? Nonsense!

There is nothing Juju about it at all. If you reason it without biases coloring your view, you would see it yourself. Anyways, as for the reasons why some divorced women go on to become sidechicks, well, there are several:

➜ Society claims it is wrong to commit adultery, but then, rather than penalize the man and sidechick, lets them off, and in some cases, Society turns the blame on the wife for not being wifely enough or not having the prowess to protect her marriage from the other woman. All this is pressure placed on the wife, who now finds herself fighting depression, rejection, and also having to continue her wifely duties, all while the man and his sidechick continue to enjoy their lives as though nothing ever went wrong. Imagine a situation where even the man's family members receive gifts and entertain the sidechick behind the wife's back as though to say that they approve of the relationship, even as they continue to insist their son's wife continue to serve him judiciously in the home.
