KarlTom:
Hello

Your issue is not clear.

Did they say your signature doesn't match what they have on record?
OR
They asked you to get a confirmation of signature from your bank?
they said i should get confirmation signature from my bank, I have been to the bank they told me there is nothing like that.
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by KarlTom: 10:29am On Oct 13, 2025
Okay.

There is a document called Confirmation of Signatory(ies). It will state the account details domiciled with them alongside your stamped passport photo and signature.

I guess the person that attended to you at the bank gave you a wrong answer.
Banker's confirmation of signature is a usual requirement and your bank should be able to do it for you. I suggest you visit the branch where you opened the account or speak to the branch manager.

Did you fill an e mandate form which was stamped and signature verified by your bank? If you did not try it along with the advice given above

At what point will the impasse on AIRTELAFRICA be broken? No point in having listed shares with no trading volume.

On an unrelated note, UBA paid dividend on Friday.

If you're unable to physically go to a bank, try the NIBSS self-service:

What bank person told you that? Even security guys at the bank should know it. It is a letter confirming that they know you, when you opened the account and the signature you use. <deleted>.

If you use GTB online banking, I have seen one of their menu that has signature confirmation, even though I have not personally have course to use it, my instinct tells me that it is something you can do from within the bank app without the need to physically go to a bank.

No need to be SCARED huh

If the MARKET eventually crash to the lowest ebb, it's will be an OPPORTUNITY for long-term SHAREHOLDERS to buy MORE.

Then PATIENTLY wait for it to RECOVER even if it's in 50ys time .

The tax law is convoluted and a bit confusing. But it does seem you're more right than wrong.

I had thought that all taxes save a few local ones are collected by the FIRS, pooled into the Fed Acct with other revenues, from where distributed to the tiers of Govt according to the Revenue Allocation Formula.

But I've just found out that more categories of taxes than I had thought are left for the State Govts.

I hope your assignment is done.

BARGAIN HUNTERS TAKE NOTE!
It is becoming doubtful to me if the CGT would be implemented the way it is currently captured in the new tax law.
The market has some big time institutional investors and players and I doubt if they would just sit aloof and allow the govt collect about 23% to 30% of their gain as CGT.

Crypto Shock → Flight to Safety

The recent crypto market crash in early October 2025, triggered by renewed Donald Trump tariff announcements and risk-off sentiment, caused a sharp liquidation of speculative assets like Bitcoin and other cryptocurrencies .

This event revived a flight to safety, as investors globally shift away from volatile, unfamiliar digital assets into traditional stores of value such as gold and equities.

For Nigerian investors, this trend is particularly relevant: as the government’s new tax policy and macro uncertainties weigh on investors confidence, investors appetite.

Why the Flight to Safety Favors Gold — and Gold Equities

The shift away from crypto will drive massive institutional and retail buying of gold, reinforcing its role as a safe-haven asset that protects value during uncertainty.

• Spot gold recently broke $4,000/oz for the first time, now up ~55% year-to-date, as central banks, governments, and high-net-worth individuals increase their gold holdings to hedge against, market shock, inflation, sanctions, and policy risk.

• Unlike digital assets, gold’s demand base — from central banks to jewelers to reserve managers — makes this rally structural and long term.

Why Gold Companies Benefit More Than Gold Itself

• Operating Leverage: Gold miners have largely fixed extraction costs. Every rise in gold price directly boosts profit margins, creating earnings growth much larger than the metal’s price increase.

• Cash Flow Advantage: Unlike crypto, miners convert rising gold prices into dividends, buybacks, and debt reduction, offering tangible returns.

Why Japaul (NGX: JAPAULGOLD) Is Nigeria’s Gateway to the Gold Boom

• Ticker: NGX: JAPAULGOLD

• Position: The only NGX-listed company with direct exposure to gold production — through subsidiaries Covenant Gems Ltd and H&H Mines Ltd — making it the clear local proxy for the global gold rally.

• Financial Snapshot:
• Market Cap: ₦37–₦38 billion
• EPS (TTM): ₦0.12 P/E: ~22x
• Dividend (FY2024): ₦0.04/share
• Strategic Advantage: As gold prices remain high, Japaul’s revenue potential strengthens due to stable production costs and the global demand surge from central banks, high-net-worth investors, and governments.

• The same flight to safety pushing global investors toward gold is expected to re-rate Japaul’s valuation on the Nigerian Exchange, especially as domestic investors seek regulated exposure to this global trend.

BUY – Japaul Gold & Ventures Plc (NGX: JAPAULGOLD)

For investors seeking domestic exposure to the global safe-haven rotation, Japaul offers leveraged participation, inflation protection, and potential for sustained capital appreciation.
