Paying dividends is not enough if capital won't grow. Most stocks that paid dividends have increased their stock price by over 60% since January but NIDF didn't move even during bull run.

Instead of NIDF just buy 10 years bond if you only want cash flow without capital growth. You are wrong on 23 should be less than 20.5 since January.

CWG I bought at 9 four months ago is over 18 now and may touch 25 soon.

If I had invested 10m it's over 20m in less than 6months. It's called capital growth

@ogawisdom NIDF is a closed-end mutual fund, not exactly like a company stock per se. The comparison with CWG may not be appropriate. Most investors who go with mutual funds want a stable cash flow and also want to enjoy the choice of an easily disposable asset when cash is needed. Hence, the consideration of investment objectives comes into play here.
