The Supreme Court had to step in to break that tradition
Women can now inherit. Go to court if they try to deny you your rights

The same way your husband's assets belong to you if he dies before you, and your sons will inherit your assets. So, what exactly is your point?..
Find another thing to say. It's like saying because I got a car I have my own and therefore I have no right to partake in the sharing of my father's property.

Does my brother not also have his own car? Therefore why is he given extra while I am kicked out? Oya explain.

The umuada part is Off Point.

Are Igbos looking for members?

You are free to go where women are the ones feeding their husbands, the good reason inheritance should be given to only women over there.
So also does she have a right to stay and change the bad traditions you people do.

It is exactly as it was the tradition of the whites to take you as slaves and you all cried out screaming that this is wrong.

So also is this Igbo female children disinheritance practice wrong.

Someone tell me which society in Igbo land is more powerful than "Umuada"

Even eze in council would never challenge umuada

No tribe reverence woman like igbos
This is Off Point.
Even that one sef is not true as we can all see that this is just a strategy to deceive your women into feeling that you people are not fully oppressing them by feigning respect.

mrvitalis:
No where in igbo culture does it say your fathers property can't be shared to female daughters
Yet, many daughters do not get anything from their father.

mrvitalis:
Your father can share family land to female daughters simple because they don't belong to him... He is given in trust by the community and only men of that community can hold land in trust
Who owns the supposed family land?

Even at that the father's personal land and properties are not shared to the daughters.

. You mean the same gang of women who are known to bully women into submitting to the will of their husbands, regardless of how unjust the situation? Come on! I saw a documentary sometime ago of how that group has been used in many cases to silence justice, all in the name of supposedly keeping peace and tradition. 😩😩😩
You can say it again.

A case of an oppressor praising his henchman

Women given independence to rule and judge their matter... Isn't that what feminists wants?
Is that not what being an adult is about?

Do you not have and exercise the freedom to rule and judge your matters?

What you just typed makes an even worse case for the existence of such a group. Why should consent be needed from such a group on such things? undecided
Correct

Is this why majority of Nigerian toxic feminists are Igbo ladies??

I am just asking based on my observations.
Yes.
Their men and their tradition made them like that. There is so much pain being an Ibo woman

Go open a separate thread for that issue; stop with the attempts to distract from the OP's concern. undecided

Your OP should face his tribe and change their evil traditions first.

Can you swear you were not taught from kid to hate omo Igbos.

I suggest you spare your brain any more painful spasms by getting off the thread completely. If in the year 2025, you are this afraid to criticize your own traditions and see changes for the better, then I suggest you avoid these sort of discussion altogether. undecided

Tell us your evil traditions you have criticized

Let start from there.

Ignoramus tell me to criticize a perfect tradition.

When did you people even start caring for Igbos?

Stop Changing the argument. It is you people's Wike traditional that is the topic. And your change of Post just proves that it is not defendable.

Further, no one is teaching anybody to hate igbo but it is you yourselves who showed why people should hate you people and run away from you people, especially when they first liked you people only for you people to show ya true colour showing why they should hate you people.

And this case just proves that even your women do not escape una Wike hand.

See as Igbo man don ban me because I don expose the whole thing.

We all see it. See how the treat umuada like a gathering of children. With shock amusement do I watch the umuadas doing form "a circle, a big circle" and turning around and round raising the picture of the dead just like little children do. Then one can see how the men completely remove themselves from the women's activity as if the women are sheet. And that all the umuadas have done is not the wake, until when the men take over and do the wake. It is then you can feel that the wake as started as you see how the men would be pouring in like ants who have found where the sugar is.

The whole thing was very shocking and immobilizing.

If they can be this discriminatory against their own wives and daughters, what would they do outsiders?

Truly, I now agree that an Igbo man should not be made King (president) of Nigeria, to even appreciate that even the Igbo man does want any of his brothers to be his king. Men, this people get nsobu oo

Wow!

This is too much. No wonder that they are very very uncomfortable when people start talking about them and their traditions and then they start throwing distractions and diversionary fallacies like the Igbo guy up has done.

Haa! I pity anybody that votes in an Igbo man for President.

That their Umuada deceit! I am an Ada so I know for a fact that it is sheeet!

Abegi, I just thank God I am out of that circle of terrible oppression and the horrible treatment of their women.

I can not understand why the women can stand that sheeet and continue to stay there but anyway I know why.

The foolish woman wants to inherite husbands properties and fathers properties.... Will her brothers inherite wives properties?? Its not expected cos women don't have properties, they depend on their husbands.... she will still fight her inlaws if the women in husband's family are fighting for their fathers properties.... that's why they say most women don't think with sense b4 talking
