Sold all my Access Bank shares this week.

While other banks are planning to release their Q3 results, paid/declared interim dividends.

CBN has not approved the H1 result of Access Bank on the the 16th of October

This is a big red flag
And he was right
while I was in hopeville.
Maybe Q3 result might make a better improvement.

ACCESSCORP has just manipulated its Q2 2025 result to make room for the financial cost for its international acquisition or expansion spendings.

Remember a significant portion of many Nigerian banks' profits in 2024 was as a result of foreign exchange (FX) revaluation gains, particularly from the devaluation of the naira in the previous year.

Interim dividend is likely when Q3 2025 result is released;or a final year dividend of ₦2.5/₦3/₦3.5 is most likely possible by April or May 2026.

A final year EPS of ₦8 for 2025 is definately possible. An EPS of over ₦3 at half year can easily take care of dividend for the 2025 financial year.

So you think CBN will let them pay N3 from eps of N8? I think N1 is more likely

Access Bank is not Last Bank(aka First Bank)

Access bank is an international bank while First bank is a glorified national bank. grin

There were so many red flags with Access, from their high risk business model to the death of Wigwe (RIP) and to the acquisition of the £15 million London mansion by the new CEO Ogbonna and lastly the delayed results

I also sold all my shares at a good profit based on the above info. Anyone still holding on this forum is definitely living in hopeville. However, I think the stock still holds some value and may not fall below N20

I think people have unrealistic expectations of ACCESS and the banks generally based on 2024 financial results which was driven by fx revaluation regardless of how it was presented in their financial statements. If you back out the one time fx revaluation effect from the 2024 financials, the bank has done very well despite a significant increase in loan loss provision. The market has factored in the impact of the 2024 fx revaluation. That is why ACCESS was trading at a p/e of 1.75 despite its growth pattern ex f/x revaluation. Same with most of the banks. Now that the era of fx revaluation distortions is out of the way, we will begin to see valuation at p/e of 4 to 5 which I consider still too low given the growth pattern of the banks.
