You are right.
But do you know the deliberate policies that the Chines govt implements to support its citizens even in foreign countries?
Are you aware these Chinese entrepreneurs get credit and loans at ridiculously cheap interest rates from their banks in China?
Nigerians can also do better if we get support from govt. But I agree that we need to put in more efforts generally speaking.
Unfortunately people who always blame government hardly go far in business and investment.

Anyone who has been in this space for more than 20 years and is still doing very well is both book-smart and street-smart. Those days, there weren’t even materials you could easily read. Na wa for you o. Take it easy with the government nah. You don't see anything they are doing right at all? All the reputable economists and international agencies dealing with world economies that are speaking good of the Nigerian economy are all wrong? When you take politics too far, you begin to erode your intellects. I think only religion has similar effect on people.

How do you know that? How many people do you know refused/failed to go far in business and investment because they blame govt?

Some people who criticize govt. (not necessarily this current govt.) have businesses and investments worth hundreds of millions and billions of naira.
Yesterday, I watched Peterside Atedo on Channels criticizing some govt. policies. You mean he would not go far in business and investment? What about Gani Fawehinmi before he died? What about Sanusi Lamido.?

I fear you ooo.

Your safety is paramount even in the facelessness of this forum.
IF you must, mask every personal/financial detail.

TICKER and PERCENTAGE should suffice to drive home your point... smiley

But Atedo Peterside is fully invested in Nigeria, I am sure he has started converting some of his forex to Naira
Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by emmanuelewumi(m): 2:34pm On Oct 28, 2025
Initial plan was to list Dangote Refinery shares on London Stock Exchange, but now he thinks it make Investment sense to list on NGX.

Why?

Because he is betting on the fact that Naira is currently undervalued and N1000 to $1 is possible soon

That is to say that people who may criticize the govt can be doing very WELL in business and investments but they want the govt to address the larger problems of society.
I think Atedo is too experienced and too informed to convert his forex to Naira. Such a person would have well diversified investments such that the naira denominated components (e.g. dividends from Stanbic IBTC) alone would be more than enough to cater for his needs

You are making two contradictory points in the bolded.

IF indeed he is selling off, that must mean that he is actually well informed on the prospects of the NGN.
It doesn't negate the fact that he will definitely return... #JIJO

The bolded above means Atedo is not converting his forex to Naira.
He would not sell his forex because he knows the dollar will outstrip the naira once again in the near future

You want to compare how SLS or Peterside criticize the government to how some people do it here.
For the record, SLS has acknowledged that Tinubu did well by removing fuel subsidy and floating the naira. That is not the same with people who will tell you that the president has not gotten anything right since he came to power.

Atedo no get the liver for serious investment and business again oooo

Make he just dey chop his dividends and other investment income.

Do you think he has the gut to join resources with others to now build another refinery in Rivers State or start a business that will create jobs for the people in his village.

Excuses are tools in the hands of the incompetent.
If the Chinese are taking cheap loans from China, do you consider the currency risk they are taking?
Do you know how much they'll have lost due to naira devaluation if they brought in capital at old rates?

It's simplistic to think others are having it easy. Person wey drive car with mouth no fit jam.

Interest rates can only reduce when we arrest inflation.

I have gotten interest rates at 18% in the country in the past

Reason why I believe for anybody to make money, one should only Invest in stocks with Return on Equity of over 203. Although I am for 30% and above.

If your business does not have the competitive advantage of coping in a business environment of 30% interest rate.

Don't you think is better for the person to kuku invest in big companies on NGX.

Some investors make more money from NGX than from their small businesses
