SWF different from ECA
It was not really different. It was part of the fund from ECA that was being moved to SWF

Thank you for your response. There was a drawdown of around $150m during covid from the Stablization Fund. Government knows what to do if they need fund from there.
In addition, the fund was setup majorly to invest on behalf of the government and grown the fund so that the country will not go broke when Hydrocarbon (crude oil) is no longer in "vogue". If they start spending the funds to block borrowings, won't it defeat the reason for setting the SWF up in the first place?
The fund isn't enough to fund deficits;i get that part now.
Though I didn't advocate using the seed capital but the proceeds from the fund.

But it's understandable if returns are being compounded.

Yes, many more need to pay tax. cool
I don't mind paying 30%-40% tax if the amenities of water, light good road health insurance, Mass Bus transportation, etc can be guaranteed throughout the 774 LGA of Nigeria and beyond at least.

Ideally and academically grin The tax should be cheaper in the long run than paying and maintaining these yourself. If not in my time, in the future generations.

But if debts are being accumulated in my time and taxation is being imposed.
What happens to the future fiscal use?

It's not just about capturing the untaxed.

Guarantee ke tongue
In my own opinion, the first thing is to generate enough funds to cover our recurrent expenditures; debt servicing (including seed money to retire matured debt obligations), salary and overhead.

Today happens to be the last day for dropping of Q3 reports. See as companies dey drop the reports without giving one any time to properly analyse it. Even Oando too is not left out. I guess many no wan pay fine to NGX. But, I doubt if Banks like Fidelity and Access can make any progress in this regards. Particularly Fidelity, I don't think I have seen their H1 2025 results.

Please, has anyone received the second tranch of Oando bonus ? I am waiting for my own so as to package everything together and enter either Seplat or Aradel ( i don't mind having very small units there). Both clearly have direction, I just tied money in Oando and it is even depreciating by the day. They can't see their mate in Seplat and Aradel churning out very impressive results. sad sad sad

ChatGPT

“Positive” as in net income or gain (i.e., administrative expenses showing a credit balance instead of a cost), can happen only in special cases — when recoveries, reversals or reclassifications exceed the actual expenses

🟢 1. Expense Reversal or Recovery

If prior-year over-accrued admin expenses are reversed:

e.g., a ₦5 million accrual for audit fees was made but actual cost was ₦3 million → ₦2 million reversal (credit).
This appears as a negative expense (a “positive” to profit).

🟢 2. Reimbursement from Partners or Affiliates

Common in oil & gas joint venture operations:

If one operator incurs admin costs on behalf of partners and gets reimbursed, the reimbursement can offset or exceed admin costs.

🟢 3. Reclassification of Shared Services

Sometimes head-office expenses are reallocated to project or production costs.
If this reallocation is more than the booked admin expenses, it results in a net credit to the administrative expense line.

🟢 4. Foreign Exchange Gains or Other Income Posted Against Admin Costs

Occasionally, FX gains, insurance recoveries, or write-backs mistakenly (or for convenience) net off admin costs, yielding a “positive” total.
