With what I read from the financial report today, I don’t see any good news coming from this company. There’s no section on the financial report on mining, I thought he said he had moved from offshore business to mining, but no activity on mining. Na even 1million dem use buy land ![]() I don enter one chance. The earlier I alight from this train the safer for me. Locotrader: |

pluto09:Then the logical thing to do is to cut down cost, reduce political cabinets and place a cap on number of kids families can have to increase our economic situation. Who spends more than what they earn as individuals and which companies spend more than what they can reasonably generate. Even the china we hail today had to place a cap on population for economic indices to grow above it, if not it would have rendered all china govt efforts useless. A country becomes wealthy if the economic growth rate is higher than population growth rate and not the other way round. |

3 things to note ahead of 2026 1. The CGT, for me this is of no much concern. Sell buy another stock and resell at no or little profit. Give up 2% commission to the broker than 30% to our yawa government. Or sell in piecemeal below the threshold. Easy peasy... 2. The coup attempt🤔🤔 3. Trump speaking about Nigeria as a country of concern. Infact this is now to me the big elephant in the room. Tinubu should better strike a mineral deal with this man. I fear this man pass the first two. If you understand psychology and the man's temperament and erratic nature you will know why. |

KarlTom: ![]() Real abrakadabra. The cooking is very very visible. Oando has not been generating profits from her core operations for a very very long time. The operating cash flow. SO trying to deceive people with a padded income statement won't fly. Companies like Oando, you need to discard the EPS or financial statement and focus more on their cashflow statement to uncover their motives. |

emmaodet:Some people are always analyzing Oando in reverse gear! Oando took huge loans so they are paying huge finance costs. Some people seem okay to see that. Oando has deployed the loans to earn some finance income but same people are raising issues about that. We all know Oando has announced plans to raise capital. What objective, forward-looking analysts should analyze is what would happen if they successfully raise the required capital and then eliminate or significantly reduce the huge finance costs. But they can still continue earning good finance income after the capital raise. For me, profit is profit oo. I don't mind if Oando magically turns into a "trading company", "finance house" or "bank" and consistently pays me sustainable good returns or dividend. People invest because of returns and rewards, not necessarily because they have special love for the class of business or sector the company falls in. |

Stockhunter:Point 1: You don't seem to fully understand the new tax laws. The target is NOT individual transactions. It's the aggregate transactions in a portfolio. It means that if you sold some shares for sales proceed ABOVE #150M or gain above #10M. Then used that proceeds to buy another share before selling it at the same price you bought it or even at a gain way below #10M; you will be liable to CGT IF you withdraw the money. So selling for amounts that breach the exemption threshold and then buying and reselling another stock at a break-even price or even for a minimal loss is NOT a viable tax planning strategy. There are only 2 ways to escape CGT in 2026 as an individual: a) Your aggregate Sales Proceeds (from all transactions in your portfolio) must be LESS than #150M AND your Net Gain (from all transactions in your portfolio must be LESS than #10M. The conditions are CONJUNCTIVE. Which means BOTH of them must exist before you can be free from CGT. So if you sell multiple shares over multiple transactions and have a total sales proceeds of #151M and a Net Gain of just #2M, you'll be TAXED. If you sell multiple shares over multiple transactions for a total sales proceeds of #15M and made a Net Gain of #10.5M, you'll be TAXED. b) The second way to escape CGT is to simply RE-INVEST EVERYTHING. If you sell for an aggregate sales proceeds of #1B and a Net Gain of #500M and you used everything to buy shares in a newly listed Dangote Refinery, NOBODY will tax you. The same thing applies if you take that money and invest in any legally REGISTERED Nigerian Company even if they are not listed. Point 2: This is a serious matter. People should be more worried about this. Many of Tinubu's allies in the North died this year—Buhari and Dantata. A look at the Coup Plotters shows that majority of them are from the North. Both of these things could be related. Point 3: This should NOT make you scared. It should make you OUTRAGED. Everybody knows that Trump's actions in relation to the ALLEGED genocide is performative. At least, the smart people do. Even you are not advocating for Tinubu to tackle the security crisis in Nigeria. Instead, you are hoping he strikes a Mineral Deal skewed in favour of the US because you know this is a BULLYING Tactics by the CRIMINAL President of a rogue US. Nigeria has a security problem. Not a genocide problem. People who spin a different narrative have a SINISTER or SELFISH agenda. |

emmaodet:If the Money oando declared is fake or audio. Will they be paying tax based on that declaration.pls answer yes or no Why are banks not sticking to just banking business .Why are they all turning to holding companies. How they make money is now a problem. Why did VDF just pick one business themselves and be doing than being in everything. This equally goes for transcorp plc. My brother multiple stream of income is not only allowed to individuals it can be for companies too.I will be only worried if it is proven that the money does not exist .JP and kpakus should make money from any business venture as long as the money is real and legit is what we have been asking too. Not a recommendation for anyone to buy oando as it won't benefit me directly or indirect |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Makanjuola89: 10:10am On Nov 01, 2025 |
Many of you don't understand this CGT thing. For individuals like you, your CGT will only be 10% on your gain over a period of 12 month. In addition, you will only pay CGT if you make more than 10 million Naira profit in that 12 month period. Let's say you make 10 million profit, you won't pay any CGT. If you make a profit of say 11 million, your CGT will now be 10% of 1 million (i.e. 11 million minus 10 million). mikeapollo: |

Makanjuola89:Are you sure the CGT is 10% for individuals? I understand it is going to be based on the new tax rates/table for PAYE, which should be about 23% In any case, I want to cash out for some major project so mere 10% is even too much for me to give the govt, not to talk about 20% or 30% |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Namaster: 10:45am On Nov 01, 2025 |
Makanjuola89:This is HORRIBLY wrong! First of all, there is NO 10% CGT rate. Capital Gains will now be taxed using the Personal Income Tax rates for individuals and CIT rates for companies. Secondly, the tax is applicable on ALL of chargeable gains. If you sold for a Net Gain of #11M and withdraw it, the WHOLE #11M (not just the additional#1M) will be taxed at the PIT rates NOT 10%. The exemption threshold in the NTA 2025 is NOT an allowance or a deduction. It's just to answer ONE question: Has this individual made enough transactions to TRIGGER a taxable event? If the answer is YES, everything will be TAXED! In fact, if you made a transaction that resulted in a Net Gain of #11M and you only withdraw about #2M to your bank account, the part you withdrew will be TAXED. Oyedele and Tinubu are NOT playing. |
