chimex38:The is a saying common with the Americans and I quote "Never say never" 😁 The way we antagonise one another because we have different of opinion on this platform is not good. People leave the topic of discussion and attack personality. Some even attack a very good stock because it was mentioned by a perceived enemy. I really don't know why we are like this. Just behave like the Nigerian Politicians, today you are in PDP, tomorrow you are in APC. The man in question may turn around to bad mouth Ellah Lakes, it still remains his opinion. There is enough money to be made by all in NGX. Just like my father would say and I quote " The sky is big enough for all birds to fly without colliding " ![]() |

zendi:You do not understand the doctrine the extremists are following. They consider it service to God and a divine commandment to kill christians. Christians in the north are therefore being killed for that sole reason.. that they are christians. No other killing has that perceived "divine instruction" backing it. You probably never heard the popular statement "I hate you for the sake of Allah" |

Namaster:Nothing else to say to you.. you obviously side genocide perpetrators every step. Hamas has clearly written in it's charter that it seeks the destruction of the state of Israel. October 7 to you was not enough for Israel (clearly facing an existential threat from Iran and allies) to act decisively. From the river to the sea chant calls for the obliteration of Israel which is in between the river and the sea. Hamas fires rockets from among the civilian population, builds tunnels under homes etc and Israel should just wait until it is wiped off the map? After the 2nd world war holocaust Israel has vowed to survive by any means necessary. Leave Israel alone and they will leave you alone. But it's the same desire by fanatics to unalive Jews and christians that's operating in northern Nigeria as well as Israel.. you are in denial but the world isn't. |

It's so funny that people believed because I sold a position I should come here and criticize the same, probably you expected my version of oando don cast, I ain't that stupid to de market people investment, because my opinion changes doesn't mean I'm or will be right. When conversation comes up on it in future and it catches my attention, I can give opinions based on my convictions. |

Mpeace:Mpeace you no go kee pesin. So tarriff man Trump is planning a regime change attack because we did one little 15% tariff of our own. Would it not be better for them to just use the CIA to blow up Dangote Refinery if so, because that's the real threat to fuel importation. If Dangote were not there and you hike import duty to even 50% it will only be getting more costly at the pump station. But importers would still be bringing it in, and passing on the cost burden to fuel buyers, thereby not hurting Trump and foreign refiners in any way. Trump is triggered by the news of Christian Genocide as Obama was of the fake news that it was innocent muslims under persecution in NE Nigeria. Obama's Kpakus government refused to give Jonathan weapons because the Obama side of the US ideological divide believed that it was Nigerian Christian farmers that were killing Muslims in the bush and stealing their cattles. During Jonathans government, the Kpakus Obama administration was unrelenting in accusing Nigerian forces battling Gboko H of high handedness, human rights abuses, use of disproportionate force etc against "helpless" Gboko Haram. |

chimex38:They should mediate and let the government's complacency continue? Is the president's life worth more than that of a single victim?? If the US is willing to put boots on the ground, they're totally welcome, even if it's a 50% reduction in the violence that's achieved, that would translate to thousands of lives saved per year. I don't see any loser here, apart from an incompetent government trying to protect silly ego in the name of sovereignty. We really need to value human lives much more than some of our people currently do. |

mallamOmonile1:There's really no more CGT, you should be liable to CIT, but since you made a loss, you won't pay. Also if your turnover is below 100m or so per annum, you don't pay any taxes, even if you make 90m as profits. |

Namaster:Are you saying Christians are not being killed?? If terrorists killed 4 Christians and 6 Muslims, and I say terrorists killed Christians, how is it hard for you to see that my statement is factual. The US is saying Christians are being massacred in Nigeria, the fact that Muslims are also massacred doesn't invalidate that statement, the only thing that does is if no Christians are indeed killed. The only thing you can pick the US for is why they aren't showing concerns for slain Muslims as they are for slain Christians. But that's their choice, it doesn't render their concern invalid. Whether you like it or not, the US will tilt towards Christianity more, plus their thinking is that the perpetrators are islamists so why should they bother. It's like if Nigerian terrorists go to a place to kill Nigerians and Israelis and then the US complains about the slain Israelis and you try to say their complaints aren't valid cos Nigerians were also slain. In that context, the US cares more about Israelis ordinarily, then again they believe the perpetrators are themselves Nigerians, so maybe they don't care as much. |

ogawisdom:For the sake of the victims and their families, please let it be true. Should we allow the complacency to linger because we've not been affected? What the government should do is take the free help. Cos if the department of war sets aside $5bn for a month long operation, that's already more than our entire military budget for an entire year, why should that be rejected? When it's not like they have a better strategy than endless reshuffling of service chiefs. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 8:23pm On Nov 02, 2025 |
ogawisdom:What interests? Is it our 1.5m BPD they're eyeing or what? Or our lithium that's lying waste which investment from the US might actually help us gain more from? We actually do have leadership problem in the country, what I see here is help that should be embraced. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 8:29pm On Nov 02, 2025 |
zendi:You're exactly right 💯💯 That's how I see it too. If they can operate for 3 months and make our country safe again, even the economy would be better off for it, but the largest payoff to me would be the thousands of lives saved. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 8:37pm On Nov 02, 2025 |
zendi:The facts don't support this 15% tax issue, except if the post was just out of humor. Most of our imported fuel come from Europe, so U.S wouldn't be bothered if we cut back. Now that we're refining is when we're even helping U. S get a trade surplus with us with our import of WTI, so they'll be all for Dangote Refinery's success |

Nice observation. Personally, I feel the changes observed in the nations economy would have some impact in the market. We should expected the unexpected and plan for the best. Some of us are still in loss and may have the option of averaging down while expecting the assumed recovery in Jan/Feb. Thank you, Sir. Stockhunter: |

awesomeJ:Maybe na the grammar be your issue. I was only adding support. But you and I know that Trump and Tinubu are having diplomatic friction.. Both Presidents also want to solve the killing crisis. These two clergy men have proven to be in the good books of both Trump and the Nigerian population. I just think Trump and Tinubu will need mediators if they are to work together. Any unilateral invasion will look like usurping the Sovereign state of the country. Rather than (Nigeria + USA) Vs Terrorists. It becomes (Nigeria + USA) Vs (Nigeria + Tinubu) Vs Terrorists creating ripple effects of war before it even starts. Remember GEJ wasn't assisted when he requested for help from the US of A as well.. Then the escalation wasn't this extended. I think mediators inform of delegates would have helped. |

Tinubu Vs Trump The Word of the day Gobsmacked I like to write or talk with Evidence 1: During Buhari Tenure, there was a time, news outlets in Nigeria always published attacks and Buhari Administration told the media to stop... picture attached That same instruction and trend still stands to this day 2: i believe on 2 occasions Very Dark Man traveled to some part of Nigeria over this mass killing... I'm going to stop here i don't want to write too much ... but if Tinubu believes he his administration is handling the issue ... competently ... he should carry Tony Elumelu and Go to White House .. and make his case Just like how south african president was gobsmacked .... he (Tinubu) will also be gobsmacked The next news that will come out will be an air strike Tinubu should step down...

awesomeJ:Lots of smart people on this thread blinded by RELIGIOUS FANATISM. Just take a look at this NONSENSE. The entire post VALIDATES my points. First, I NEVER disputed the fact that Christians are part of the casualties of terrorism in Nigeria. My point is, and has ALWAYS been, the deaths are NOT tantamount to Christian Genocide. If an attack kills 6 Muslims and 4 Christians, saying that the attack is evidence of Christian Genocide is MADNESS! For reference, look up the meaning of genocide. Next, the US is NOT saying Christians are being massacred. It's saying that they are being TARGETED specifically because of their faith. My question is simple: If you intend to EXCLUSIVELY TARGET Christians in Nigeria, where would you go? The North or the South? Plus, the fact that you said that they can ignore the deaths of the MAJORITY who are Muslims and cling to the deaths of Christians which are fewer and then label that as evidence of a Christian Genocide PROVES my point that this definition of genocide is SUBJECTIVE and PRETEXTUAL. It's NOT based in reality. It's the OPINION of some people with their own agenda. To further prove my point, you said the US will inevitably "tilt" towards Christianity. What you really mean is that they are UNREALISTICALLY SKEWED and BIASED. They needed to DOWNPLAY the deaths of Muslims to fit their FALSE narrative of a Christian Genocide. That does NOT speak of someone with an altruistic intention. There is an AGENDA. If an attack kills 6 LETTERS and 4 NUMBERS, it requires a feat of mental gymnastics to proclaim that the attack was a targeted genocide of NUMBERS. Apparently, many people are EAGER to demonstrate this level of mental gymnastics. Also, the notion that they are somehow justified in their conclusions because of the religious affiliation of the terrorists is NONSENSE. According to that, it wouldn't be a Christian Genocide if the perpetrators were also Christians. Pure MADNESS! Now, back to your Israeli analogy. First thing to note here is that the US is NOT complaining or expressing concerns about the welfare of Christians in Nigeria. They are OFFICIALLY labelling it a GENOCIDE. And that's just WRONG. A better analogy would be like if terrorists of Nigerian origin attacked a NIGERIAN village in Nigeria known to be prone to terrorist attacks and somehow 2 Israeli tourists were among the total victims of about 5 who died and US Politicians started saying the Israelis were the REAL targets all along. That previous attacks on the village that resulted in multiple deaths have all been EXCLUSIVELY targeted at the 2 Israelis who were NOT even there at the time It's RIDICULOUS! In contrast, if terrorists of Nigerian origin travelled to Israel and BOMBED a synagogue; NOBODY would need to be convinced that the targets were Israelis. To reiterate my points: Christians are being killed. Muslims are being killed. Nigerians are being killed REGARDLESS of their religion. That's NOT a genocide. It's an INDISCRIMINATE killing of innocent Nigerians which is still a SERIOUS problem. Anybody who insists otherwise has ULTERIOR MOTIVES. Finally, this will be my last contribution on this thread in relation to this matter. The thread is too SIGNIFICANT to be used for such discussions. |
