chimex38:Thanks for pointing this out. It's s ALARMING. But also very FUNNY. ![]() The person complaining about FAKE news related to the New Tax Laws is the number one spreader of fake news related to the New Tax Laws. It's even worse since he's the Chief Architect of the laws. He's the kind of person they called a SUPER-SPREADER during the time of Corona. He has been attending conferences and symposiums and telling people that Small Companies are companies with Turnover of #100M or less and Total Fixed Assets of #250M or less WHILE the NTA and NTAA defines Small Companies as companies with Turnover of #50M or less and Total Fixed Assets of #250M or less. This is very BAD. And NOBODY on his team corrected him. It could also be that somebody (the Lawmakers) tampered with the Final Drafts and Oyedele failed to review the ones published in the official gazette. By the way, PwC published Oyedele's #100M definition on their official website. An egregious mistake on their part. Someone should inform Oyedele. Maybe they'll review the New Laws and POSTPONE the date it goes into effect 'cause #50M is too SMALL a threshold.

Why are some people happy when the market bleeds? Do you take delight in seeing your fellow brother lose money? Why celebrate another man’s downfall? How does it even give you joy to come here and keep chanting “red, red, red”? If this were a village setting, such an attitude would easily be likened to witchcraft. We need to be more considerate of others — their emotions and mental health — before throwing our unsolicited jabs. Better days are ahead. 🌱 |

I'm kintus:Witchcraft kwa?? Why can't my brother take his profit and await another entry? If my brother doesn't understand the cyclical nature of the market then he's only just paying for his inexperience. If however my brother is a long termer like Buffet, then he needs to understand that any losses aren't yet realized and thus should be less bothered by price volatility. |

Namaster:There is still confusion over this matter. AI reply: “Since the specific figure in the final tax law text is still subject to minor conflicting reports (₦50M vs. ₦100M for 0% tax), you should rely on the threshold of \le \text{₦100 Million} for general classification as a small company that benefits from numerous tax reliefs and exemptions under the new law, but be aware that the stricter 0% CIT threshold might be \le \text{₦50 Million}. Consult a tax professional for specific compliance advice”. |

Streetinvestor2:I see the CGT might discourage investors especially FPI. Read somewhere that Foreign investors bought over N1 trillion Nigerian stocks in nine months. Local participant is more though, but with the uncertainty surrounding the cgt and what's exempt or not, few may want to pull out and observe the market especially from next year. For the 10% WHT, the FIRS already mandated all banks, stockbrokers and other FI. to commence deduction on short term instruments. You might want to confirm with your bank again. |

kintus:You need some stock market education. Except for some one in a dead stock, when a sound stock like Aradel, Zenith etc is bleeding it means the market is begging investors to come and make money because it is very temporary and won't last long, latest by February the bull is back. So if you have a sound stock that is bleeding you should be happy to be able to buy more at a cheaper rate. The people unhappy are inexperienced in the market and have no cash to buy more. November- December is known as discount season and every stock bleeds as some people prepare for Christmas celebrations. The market has seasons and cycles. |

I generally avoid responding to uninformed comments, but I’ll make an exception here to educate you and others who might share your misconceptions. 1.A 0.25% dip on the NGX yesterday is perfectly normal and not cause for alarm. The stock market is cyclical by nature. it oscillates over time, and such minor pullbacks are part of a healthy market pattern. 2.Many, like you, expected the index to plunge by 3% or more because of the noise on social media over the U.S. President’s comment. However, major participants in the Nigerian stock market understand that the likelihood of any U.S. military action against Nigeria is extremely low. 3.Q3 earnings expectations were already priced in over the past three weeks. Profit-taking after results season is expected. The mild bearish trend now simply signals that the Q3 euphoria is over, and the market will likely oscillate between now and February 2026, when audited results start rolling in. 4.Portfolio reshuffling and optimization are common at this time of year, as institutional investors rebalance their holdings ahead of the new cycle. 5.A 0.25% decline doesn’t reflect fear or panic. New or inexperienced investors like you making noise on social media often expect the market to move in one direction without corrections. Yet, yesterday’s trade value clearly shows that the big players remain active and are positioning for long-term value ahead of 2026. 6.Unfortunately, most of the noise online comes from people who don’t understand how the Nigerian market truly works. 7.For context, the NGX has seen a single-day drop of 1.66% this year, wiping off nearly ₦1.064 trillion in value and it still recovered afterward. The market will always go up and down. That’s how it works. No this and no peace! COPIED |

Oga AwesomeJ, Thank you for your response. If read in-between the lines, you’ll realize my concern isn’t about who took profit or who is a long-term investor in the market. My message is simply to discourage the unwarranted and unsolicited mockery of either newbies or those caught off-guard by the market dip. At a time like this, two things are most appropriate: 1. Stay silent, or 2. Be positive and offer words of encouragement. Some people are not yet used to market cycles and may not be able to chest the red. Such individuals could become overly worried or even sell at a loss — which helps no one. As the elders say, if you cannot help, don’t kill them. We owe our fellow compatriots at least that much. Remember, not everyone got to where they are today solely by their own efforts — Na God still run am for them. So why taunt others who are still waiting on God to pick their calls? 🙏🏽 awesomeJ: |

Okay.....the THEME of my message is a bit different from the response, but your feedback is still helpful. Your recommendation - OF BUYING THE RED - should be the loudest - instead of the mockery and the taunting. Remember what the Gospel says about people with such character. Ref: Proverbs 24:17-18, Romans 12:15. Thank you, Boss. ogawisdom: |
