Agbalowomeri:Does it mean you don't have any stocks in your NGX portfolio that has fallen in price, so far? If there is, then you are also in the red. |

Oando has met minimum requirement for a wave 2, even though 41.7 key level was not broken, the push we've weve seen was from 42 region. From an Elliot Wave perspective, the asset can either reverse from close to 42 again follwoing a potential 2nd and 3rd test or it will break 41.7 towards 40 region before a reversal. The reason for this is simple, there is liquidity to be grabbed at those levels. its all about the money. Agbalowomeri:Are you saying you’re the only one who likes a good bargain or what? Before it even gets there, people will start buying. The only way it gets to that level is if there’s a serious problem with the bank or with Nigeria as a whole. Some stocks may fall, but the good ones will hold their ground. Do you think you’re the only one with a bullion van waiting for price drops? Maybe your problem is anchoring, I’ve noticed you tend to anchor to old prices, probably because you’re used to them. But we’ve told you before that things have changed. One bottle of Hero beer is now ₦1,000, it’s not going back to ₦300. You can keep anchoring and waiting for it at ₦300 if you like. ![]() |

Agbalowomeri: ![]() Really? You mean only the ''rich'' have stocks that would fall in price? It is the so called ''rich people'' who trade in large volumes (i.e. provide liquidity) in the market that enables the ''not-so-rich people'' to also trade and make profits and gains. Once a section of the market is affected, others will be affected too. It is not only about the CGT. It is also because prices and trades will fall drastically |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 11:04am On Nov 05, 2025 |
mikeapollo:The CGT will not affect everyone. Someone like Agba has sold all, waiting to reenter the market at at his own convenience. You also can sell and follow him to escape paying heavily for CGT. |

pluto09:The CGT will affect everyone because prices will drop drastically when liquidity evaporates in the market. I can only sell based on my strategic needs and projections, for now. Every investor is not the same. I cannot just sell off everything just because a clueless and gullible govt. has come to disrupt the market because they want to extort investors. |

Otedola's boys seriously defending FBNH.... ** All these Trump invasion fear will still go last las.... There are rules and protocols to any country intervening in another's affairs.... While condemning genocide in it's entirety, I still don't expect any country to just barge into another just like that... They must have gotten to some level of dialogue or order breakdown ** Concerning CGT, only the super rich are afraid, they want to keep collecting but not ready to sacrifice anything, they are altogether corrupt....they want to keep fleecing on the country.......... ![]() If you make huge gain, the right thing is to also pay your tax..... All these Tax shouting upandan, they pay ridiculous ones outside the country but don't want to pay here, e no go work like that. NGX will be fine at the end of the day. |

kintus:Sorry if my response was harsh in anyway. Don't worry yourself bro, once you know you have a solid dividend paying stock, the market will become more rational by February. No need going to the market to view red, which will mess up your emotions, allow it to bottom out and then buy more if you have cash or wait for the next season. We are all learning. One new strategy I will start implementing is reducing my exposure in stocks I have poor margin of safety in seasons like this. |

There is also the possibility of a lull or inactivity in the market especially for blue chip stocks because of the CGT. For instance, what would be the motivation of anyone to bring out money to move the price of PRESCO, Nestle NAHCO etc? Though there may be plenty offers, who would be the buyers and what could possibly be their motivations? |
