N200M in any part of the world is a decent amount. With that amount, you are richer than 90% of the world populace.

200M in good dividend paying companies in NGX is RICH. We should stop the act of dollarizing everything. Nigerians settle their local obligations in Naira.
It is this kind of reasoning that made Oyedele (abi wetin una dey call am) classify #50m earning in Nigeria as ultra-rich. What can #50m really buy in the Naira value of today? He forgot that #50m of today was just about #18m pre Tinubu regime.
Even an entrepreneur doing business with such amount as capital is still a budding entrepreneur.

EV is the way to go. China is making it possible by making them affordable. In fact in the last 5 years Chinese EV related vehicles have taken serious market share from major car brands globally. There is enough power from the Sun to power EV’s in Nigeria. And harvesting/storing the energy is getting more and more affordable, thanks to China. All this makes me bearish on Aradel et al when thinking of medium to long term investments.
How much is the cheapest EV car u can drive from one region to another region in nigeria. I am not talking about those toys u can only really use in golf grand..Not something u see dangota truck on the road u move out of ur lane.
Then for senate being lead by akpabio. Dont take anything from thr serious any time natatsha is present on the floor. E get why. The final decision comes from a special part of the body...lol

My brother, I appreciate your point.
For me, N200m was huge money up to 2023. But the way things are going now with successive govts, N200m may not be that big anymore.
Just ask yourself: how much will remain after you build or buy a 4-bedroom bungalow flat or duplex?

If you buy @60 what do you think the upside is? Will it get back to the previous high? I doubt

My own postulation is that it is possible to get @45-50 and it will do a short rally to 60-65 before dividend. I may be wrong

You can buy so that we use your money to test the hypothesis grin

Are we not talking about 200m because naira value is seriously decimated?
I assume that someone with a hundred million and above surely have a house, a car for himself and another car for his wive.
If not, what is the essence of having all the millions in your account?
You are not entirely wrong.
But in this context, we are discussing if N200m is a really big sum of money assuming you still need to build or buy a house from it and continue living fine as an average Nigerian

Pls stop passing info only on what you read, sometimes try taste the soup before telling how delicious it is.

Is there an EV vehicle with at least 4 passengers capacity that is worth less than 25million?

In a country where average power supply is less than 10hrs a day what business do we have with electric vehicles.

You talk about the sun. Lol. I also thought the sun was enough until I installed a solar system in my house. It is good but not what you think it is. Sometimes you have to put off almost everything in the house for the solar system to last through the night. Even when you expand the system, the sun is not just enough, you still rely on the grid or generator sometimes to charge it up.

Always ask yourself why all those developed countries with constant power supply still have the petrol and diesel vehicles dominating.
Why are they still interested in gas etc

For a country like Nigeria that is an oil producing country, and relies heavily on oil, we have no business promoting EVs more so that we don't have enough electricity to power the basics.
We better focus all that energy on growing our oil and gas sector.

For the record I'm completely against Oyedele's stance on CGT as regards NGX , the market is just opening up , the policy is ill - timed , it will definitely kill the momentum and it has started happening.

The amount in question in 200M not 50M . And I will say it again and again, if you are debt free and you have 200M in good dividend paying companies on NGX , you are RICH by the world standard

Since you guys always dollarize everything... Answer the simple question; What percentage of people in the world have $137K , debt - free

Make a decent case with an answer to the above question.

I think you guys live in a bubble or something. 200m naira is a huge amount of money. Majority of the world population have never had anything close to that.

Paying more tax to a government that is not accountable to its citizens, is akin to pouring water into a basket.
mikeapollo:
The shallow and hollow argument some people make sometimes is to compare taxes being paid in developed countries and say the same must be paid here, without putting things in proper context.
They are not even able to demand accountability from those who collect and embezzles the taxes and public funds. Sometimes, they even support the looters.

Developed countries provide jobs to their graduates and qualified citizens. They provide unemployment benefits, housing and accommodation., They take good care of the aged, elderly and sick ones.
Their president and politicians live a modest lifestyle, and some even use public transport to go to work on daily basis.

Over here, graduates roam the streets for 5 years without a job, no unemployment benefits, no govt housing or accommodation, your parents are old and sick with no govt support. The politicians are living an ostentatious lifestyles. An illiterate Councilor or LG chairman is earning more than medical doctors , lecturers and professors. You provide accommodation, water, electricity, neighbourhood security, roads etc. by yourself. The additional responsibilities and services that you provide is more than 35% additional tax to the govt.

With all modesty , I have multiple of that in my NGX and my money markets but that doesn't mean I will look that amount less. I don't live in Nigeria, I'm well travelled, so I can tell you for a fact that if you take care of your daily needs and you have 137K ( N200M ) saved , you are RICH by the world standard.

No be everybody wan be like Dangote. It's all about mindset . No be everybody wan build by 5 , 6 duplexes. Some people are very much okay with a bungalow, after all , house Na house. No be everyone wan buy Lamborghini , some people are okay with their Toyota. No be everybody wan buy super yacht and private jets.

No need for unnecessary pressure

The essence of living is to satisfy one's basic needs and have some bars left to enjoy life. No be everybody wan buy Yacht or Private Jet. The lack of contentment is what make a lot die in this rat race

Make nobody pressure anybody.
