I don't know if it's only me.....
I saw quite a lot of accumulations despite the red in the market......

In the past, if there's downturn in the market, there used to be very low volumes and transactions.....but it seems different this time around......billions still exchanging

Some investors still buying......
Some defence also.....in some big caps & few others .....MTN, ARADEL, etc

* What type of market can we say we are in now?

I had to jump out. It’s a decent profit for the year. I have concern of Ellah having over 21b outstanding shares. So many APIs this period.
Bought UBA PO at 50 and it’s sitting well at 30-40.

Although at over 20% loss in vfd, I still took my RI in VFd - 50b RI is fair and I consider that one is solid

I think It best to come back and pick Ella at 7-8naira

Some people who jumped out are already jumping back.
Aside CGT debacle, there's also the fear of missing out... smiley

* Some transactions are obviously deliberate in the market from the look of things......
* MMs seems in charge for reasons best known to them....

* EUNISEL @70.90!
Are we saying CGT didn't concern this one?
MM just freely moving it against traffic..

I told people that Access could reach 20, and they said it wasn’t possible, lol. I can tell you for free, if Zenith hits 50, AccessCorp would have already gone below 20 long before that.

If the CGT madness is not reversed, virtually every stock will be affected. Some may be affected more or quicker than others, but all stocks will get a hit eventually and it would be opportunity for bargain hunters to accumulate.

I’ve already shared my take on CGT, but you guys didn’t like it, so why bring it up again? I clearly showed that selling now isn’t necessary, and I even gave you a simple way to reduce the tax by rotating into another stock, even the same one would work.

How sure are you that what’s happening is actually CGT-related? We’ve had similar red periods earlier this year, long before the CGT issue came up, so how can you be so certain? I come in peace ooo. cheesy

Ok. Guess you are the Mr market that mercy talks about since you're so confident of Ellah's descent to that range

What do you mean by rotating into another stock, even the same one?
Do you mean selling the stock and reenter again? Did you consider the impact/extent of the fees to sell and fees to buyback?

Kindly explain more.

Who really is buying the other in the case of kpakus and this other farm.
That company cassava mill alone worths more than kpakus as a company. They said the cassava mill alone is $25 million dollars .
Who are the owners of this other farm.Something not right is about to go down in valuation of the whole deal

Many are selling to pre-empt the usual lull in the market in Dec when prices go south and, this time around, there is little hope for recovery or rebound in January due to CGT, hence making the reds sticky.

ositadima1:
The tax law seems to provide a loophole specifically for stocks. If you reinvest your earnings within the same tax year, you don’t pay tax on those earnings for that year — tax is only applied to the portion you withdraw without reinvesting.

Another interesting point is that the law doesn’t specify how long you must hold your new investment before selling it again. In many other countries, you typically need to hold the new purchase for at least a year to qualify for tax exemption.

So, the loophole here is this: make profits from those rubbish “jijo” stocks, withdraw the gains, and reinvest them into more liquid and stable stocks like banks, Presco, or BUA Foods. Then, sell those after a week, even if it’s at zero gain, a small profit, or even a small loss.

Sounds almost like money laundering, lol.

Isnt the fees better than 25%-30% CGT?
Both in percentage and face value.

I think you guys live in a bubble or something. 200m naira is a huge amount of money. Majority of the world population have never had anything close to that.
My brother, it is only when I come online I see people talking down on some money.
You will someone who is not earning 500k talking down on a pilot earning 2m per month saying it is a peanut.
Many have never floated a business and pay workers just common 100k per month yet will come online and rubbish someone earning 300k.
200m is roughly 130k us dollars.
You can buy a nice bungalow in any state capital, lesser outside the state capital aside Lagos and Abuja for 35m.
A friend showed me a building he wants to buy in PH for 35m and it was beautiful.
So 35m on house, 10m on car and you are left with about 150m.
Divide it into 2, 75m gives you 11m interest on TB or mutual funds per annum at 15% rate while the other half 75m in dollars MF which is $50,000 at 9% gives $4,500 which is roughly 6.5m.
Total annual income 17.5m in passive income and we are here debating it is a peanut.
For a country where over 85% of the population are earning less than 10m as house hold income per year (wife and husband total income)
Well, this is internet sha were everyone is a billionaire are living in mansions

I bow for you ooo.

There are some views you just read and move on.

I laugh tire the day someone on this same platform argued that 20% of Nigerians are worth at least over N50m BASED ON THE FACT THAT MOST PEOPLE AROUND HIM LIVE IN THEIR OWN HOUSES!

Nigerians and figures.
Nigerians and percentages.q
