Agbalowomeri:No loud am ooo, In all the FA and TA discussions, people sometimes forget that it’s people behavior that determines what the market does. If enough people decide to sell, prices will crash, it’s not always about valuation or the company’s value generation. ![]() |

In my opinion, what is happening is the effect of the CGT. Investors prefer to protect their already hard-earned gains from the market before the CGT policy takes effect in January, then start with a fresh slate in 2026 first quarter. Based on the (TA), I expected this move to start last month, but the NSEINDEX bounced above 142K to over 150K, giving traders false hope. although d market can not moves straight down to the expected destination , I expect a slow and steady decline throughout this quarter. The CPC has just added fuel to the CGT fire whichever, Fingers crossed ![]() |

THIS IS EXTRACT IF TARGET TECHNICAL CAUCUS REPORT TODAY The Nigerian All-Share Index (ASI) declined for six consecutive days up to November 10, 2025, confirming bearish momentum. The overall market strategy remains to BE IN CASH due to the sustained sell-off. Short-term (1-2 weeks), the market is expected to move sideways with a possible technical rebound due to seller exhaustion. Positive drivers include CBN FX reforms boosting foreign investor confidence and the NGX being Africa’s top-performing market in USD for Q3 2025. Risks include domestic inflation, insecurity, and tight monetary policy. Key market data as of November 10 show the ASI at 148,781.90 points, down 0.49%, with market cap down by N472 billion. Market breadth weakened with 13 gainers and 40 losers. Large-cap profit-taking was observed in major stocks, while small caps showed some resilience. Sector outlook notes that Oil & Gas leads due to stable crude prices, while the Consumer Goods sector weakens due to inflation. The Insurance sector is lagging. Momentum analysis shows Banking as oversold and weakening. The report includes stock picks for best chart pattern breakouts and recoveries, along with lists of top stocks and speculative stocks by probability of success; Fundamentals highlight solid performers with strong revenue growth across various sectors. Macro influences include an improved FX accessibility ranking and government initiatives to deepen capital markets. A

i. A govt that wants to take credit for growth in the capital market. ii. A govt that is asking banks to recapitalize and knows that they would come to the market to raise funds. iii. At the same time, such govt is implementing a destructive, counter-productive tax policy that would shrink market activity and growth. iv. A govt that claims to have achieved their revenue target in Sep. But they have over-borrowed more than they budgeted for by 55.6% in Oct A classic case of a confused govt, governing by trial and error! |

currentprice:I think whatever the cause, it’s a blessing in disguise, especially for value and dividend investors. They get to buy at prices that will boost their effective dividend yields along with future appreciation. As those exiting now drive prices down, they’ll likely drive them back up when they return. The market is clearly moving on sentiment rather than actual value. If this continues, it might even be possible to earn 15% or more in dividends. ![]() So, if you choose to sell, that’s fine, just make sure you time your re-entry correctly. ![]() |

ololufemi:yes.. I agree. I was only trying to offer a counter opinion to the other guy who thinks they might push the price up well above PO @9.5; Which is plausible as well. However, Right issue targeters and those qualified for it won't also mind to bring the price down to even ₦9 if that's what it takes to sell their holdings to buy the RI @7 So it's going to be a two way fight. |
