Raider76:I am not interested in the gazetted law.Thr are many things that has been enacted in nigeria law that has never been implemented. It is what the people going to implement it says that matters. Did inec implement the things in the law in last election. Na watin dey law judiciary take wan judge Kanu case. Why has he been asking them to show him the particular law.when u begin to look beyond the surface na spirit u go begin see.I was waiting for the minister of the economy to intervan and he has done so. So anyone opinion na noise. Don't the minister have power to say they are suspending implementation for now and it will stand. |

samarine:From experience, the NGX platform doesn't offer the option to buy additional units; it only gives you your right due to you. It's on the physical form you have that option. If you wish to buy additional units at the same price as the RI price, you can use the physical form instead. |

FG suspends plannned 15% import duty on PMS, diesel https://punchng.com/fg-suspends-plannned-15-import-duty-on-pms-diesel/ One can't help but have an uncomfortable feeling that there is confusion among those steering our country's economy. |

Agbalowomeri:Lol where you want make I go naa, the banking sector is becoming a CBN affair. We seem to buy bank shares while CBN eats the dividend with over regulation. Bank makes profit, CBN says don't distribute etc Make I just leave my money for oil at least they pay good dividends |

Raider76:Go to page 91 of the Act. Below and attached is the section of the Act that mentioned this. "company shall not be chargeable gains where – (i) the disposal proceeds, in aggregate, is less than N150,000,000 and the chargeable gain does not exceed N10,000,000 in any 12 consecutive months, or (ii) the shares are transferred between an Approved Borrower and a Lender in a regulated Securities Lend" What does the word AGGREGATE mean to you.

awesomeJ:They should suspend the CGT as well. This govt should invite very good technocrats that can give them good advice on how to run the economy. Their main focus seems to be on using every means to imposes taxies, levies to generate revenue and it is creating big problems! |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by mikeapollo: 10:06am On Nov 13, 2025 |
unite4real:So selling and buying in the ''same year of assessment'' is the real deal now. So if I sell on 31 December hoping to invest the proceeds in March, the govt will tax the proceeds of December. What happens when I want to reinvest the proceeds to buy another stock in March? Will govt refund? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 10:12am On Nov 13, 2025 |
The issue of CGT has been resolved as long as market is concerned. Any other thing na individual noise. The market will be green today and tomorrow .The government want u to invest on ngx simply. The stock market has never been for quick money. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by pluto09(m): 10:16am On Nov 13, 2025 |
mikeapollo:You don't pay CGT each time you sell. You wait for the year end and file your returns. |

Senate urges Wale Edun to review the 30% CGT....as a matter of URGENCY https://nairametrics.com/2025/11/13/n2-trillion-market-loss-senate-urges-edun-to-review-30-capital-gains-tax/ |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by Streetinvestor2: 10:32am On Nov 13, 2025 |
yMcy56:Walahi if this government na odd wa u fit win money. I for dey cash out steady..lol I too sabi predict thr move.I said it about the senate though I was expecting it all next week. They only acted faster than I expected. I expect the cgt to be reduced btw 15-20% before implementation. The issue on cgt was solved already by 80%. Na 20% remain for my opinion. The ASI has political target of 150k or above. You can see the indirect campaign in thr speeches that ngx has returned 50% this yr in most pronouncement |

He pain me say when all these brouhaha happened in this market I was too busy to follow the market live, I even just finished reading outstanding posts here. I move some funds into the wallet very early yesterday to cherry pick but the land don turn green. Agba when should we be expecting bonanza again, I'm seriously pained that I was unavailable during those time. ![]() |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 10:47am On Nov 13, 2025 |
crownprince2017:Maybe don't be pained. it's easier to regret now. On Tuesday, most people thought the market was heading to 120k. some said 75k, someone even said 50k. When I said 130k would hold and later revised up to 140k on news of policy change, Agba still said it was a fantasy bottom , that no be nsempa dey move market, now the reality is different. It's easier now to think you would have gone all in, but you might not have been as bold. I'm happy I pushed my cash position to as low as 5%. Even the 5% sef was due to unfilled buy orders. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 10:47am On Nov 13, 2025 |
mikeapollo:Nope. No body taxes your sale proceeds if you sell in Dec. Your full sales proceeds automatically becomes your cost price if you decide to buy in March 2026. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by crownprince2017: 10:50am On Nov 13, 2025 |
awesomeJ:I knew This cgt will cause kasala but not as fast as this and I was almost sure that CGT wouldn't fly...its just unfortunate. |

awesomeJ:He is my oga and member of PDP. (papa decieve pikin )..lol |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by awesomeJ(m): 10:55am On Nov 13, 2025 |
crownprince2017:I anticipated that people weren't entirely selling to pull out, some were only just selling to rebase their low historical costs, so they would still inject the proceeds back. But thank God now for the change in policy direction to a more favourable stance. |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by chimex38: 10:57am On Nov 13, 2025 |
awesomeJ:If you read through the boldness of the "cheaper" comment. You can infer that the person doesn't view the marker orders. They don't know what's going on with most stocks especially highcap stocks that mostly trade below or above 100k units. All they see is the NGX display dashoard.(₦1,450 thereabout). you guys are having a different view of the market. |

chimex38:So what happens if I sell on Dec 31 and decided to withdraw whole cash in the following Jan or Feb? |
| Re: Nigerian Stock Exchange Market Pick Alerts by yMcy56: 10:59am On Nov 13, 2025 |
UBA just vexing anyhow.... - Even when they declared juicy interim dividend last year, the rally only lasted for a day..... - @42.15 full bid today.....for the second day.. - It was too battered during this CGT bear time.. |

chimex38:Yes, and part of the relevance of this platform is to share such info with those who might not have it. |
