I used to run my brother, my mom and some times my younger sister. I also have a friend I met during NYSC in 2017, the nigga don too guide me even when I lost my job at a point he helped me get another one to cover that hard phase.

Another subset of folks are those who are the de facto breadwinner. The only crime they committed was to be successful and to have a good heart, which has attracted all the leeches (aka family members) to feast.

They are between the redline of cutting everyone off and just live solo, or to keep giving to sustain the colonial relationship.

Giving is not even the issue, but such giving has created a permanent dependence, that breaking it will ensue conflict, guaranteed.

It’s like a circle we keep running in, but survival is the key.
