It reduces lag in voice and image data transmission.

The best way is to pass it under water or underground. I believe MTN is passing it via electrical poles because that will be the cheapest process for them.

The truth is that Nigeria lacks proper town planning. All utilities like electricity cable, optical fibre etc should be underground. If Nigeria decides to go on centralized water supply and centralized sewage system, a lot of demonition will be done.

That's for the ongoing fibre X initiative by mtn which is aimed at providing faster and unlimited internet for homes and businesses. The masts will surely not be phased out as that is what gives our cell phones and 4g WiFi devices network. This is specifically for the fibre X internet service so if you decide to subscribe to the service, a fibre optic cable will be connected from the receiver closest to you to the router inside your house/office. It's a welcome development here in Benin City and it is working perfectly, for the first time, I can watch Udemy and YouTube videos in full HD without worrying about data depletion

OP, I am planning on moving out of my current area to a place where these cables are already sef, i am tired of spending almost 100k on data bundles every month with their 5g unlimited router, which is not unlimited. I visited a friend and saw him using FiberX, those cables are the cables, unlimited data fr just 25k monthly, what beats it?

In recent time,I discovered that I will load for Data 1500 or even up to 4k at times,and they just deduct the money 🤑 and will be asking for More!

THIS IS A GOOD DEVELOPMENT, its internet lines, individuals or houses can buy internet and it will be wired to your WIFI ROUTER in your house. You subscribe monthly as in unlimited data bundle. Also its very cheap, cheaper than data. The mask and data will still work, but they want to create another cheaper option.

Electricity does not interfere with fibre optic cables so have no fear

That's called FTTH, Fiber to the Home

Not in any way facing out the mast(bts), but drawing
connectivity from there and passing it to homes and business.

It's even better that way, they can cover more states easily. I do pity mtn on their fiber optics, they will dig and re-dig every year because of road constructions.
Since our roads are not built to last, you will see a roads being built from scratch instead of layering on an existing solid road.

What's your worry? Do you have a problem with masts being phased out? Although that's not going to happen, not in the foreseeable future

I am alreafy planning to buy Starlink.

This of course is a far cheaper alternative.
