Streetinvestor2:1. Bail (2017) He was granted bail with strict conditions. 2. Bail Conditions Restrictions included: * no interviews * no rallies or mass gatherings * no inflammatory statements * no association with groups deemed security threats These were intended to limit his influence pending trial. 3. Violations He deliberately violated the conditions by: * holding rallies * giving radio broadcasts The violations were open and intentional. 4. Escalation of Rhetoric His language shifted to proto-insurgency, this escalation alarmed federal authorities. 5. Operation Python Dance II The operation was launched not merely for bail breaches but because intelligence suggested IPOB was shifting from agitation → mobilisation → potential militarisation. The bail violations served as a convenient pretext. 6. Military Raid The raid on his home was a deliberate attempt to disrupt and decapitate the movement , a political–military action, not a judicial one. 7. Flight He fled after the raid and resurfaced in the UK. Legally, this constitutes bail jumping, regardless of the circumstances. |

ositadima1:You can go try harder with another person. Sorry it doesn't work for many Biafrans. You did not add the number of ammunition that was recovered in his family home after the exercise that claimed life of family members . You didn't say the number of innocent igbo youths that whr killed during that period by the military. And the same military now sit to dine with the once who right in thr face come with all kind of sophisticated weapons. I know when gen z is talking on such issues Who is restricting the rights of the ones with iPhone on social media showing how they kill innocent people without hiding thr identity. Guy go park one side |

Few points I was able to gather from the session. Before now we had a CDT act so unlike before where we had different tax acts and documents, we now have one signle law on anything tax. Filings are to be done 2 times a year. June and December. Transactions that occur between Jan and June are to be filed in June, ditto for June to December in December. CGT applies to gains in securities and capital market. Loses can set off from other chargeable gains which means you can use losses from one asset sale to offset gains from another asset within the same assessment year. The old CGT law did not allow this until the act of 2020. Non resident is liable to tax on gains made from Nigeria The provision now also ensures that FDI also have to pay CGT even if they use SPV to run their business in Nigeria One way to avoid paying CGT is to use the gains to buy another security within same calendar year irrespective of whether you made a gain of 10M or not. Bonds and FG securities are still likely to be excempted Timing your disposal can also help in reducing your CGT You can use your loss making assets to offset your gains when you sell both within same period Risked aversed people can focus more on dividend gaining asset since that dividends only attract 10% WHT When filling your returns for CGT, all your refunds should provable. Contract documents come in place here Same for when you reinvest. Use all of those details to self declare your gains. Do not wait for the tax man to come and help you calculate. Know what is taxable and not taxable, do not misclassify. Crypto will also be liable to CGT Identify Tax Exempt Table Income Portfolio abd assign more resources to them Looks like even mutual funds are CGT taxaable (This one I was not clear on) ojesymsym: |

Streetinvestor2:How rich a community is determines how economically relevant the members of that community are. I saw somewhere that more people were killed in Sudan in one week of that war than were killed in the entire Gaza war, but because the people of Sudan are economically irrelevant in the world there was no outrage. America doesn't give a hoot about christian lives in Nigeria. They are thinking long term and they realise that it is better to kill this crisis now rather than watch Northern Nigeria turn to another Afghanistan. If Boko Haram were blowing up oil pipelines trust me Nigeria would have found a solution since. But as things stand right now a bunch of poor people are killing another bunch of poor people. |

Streetinvestor2:The unfortunate truth is that both parties were wrong. The government went too far with the military raid, but Nnamdi Kanu was also culpable. He kept doing the very things his bail conditions forbade, fully aware that the government was unpredictable, he played straight into their hands. You can’t be making serious threats when you have nothing to fight with. Look at people like Tompolo and others, they went full gangster with backing. Kanu had no such structure, not even militants at the time. A clever person would have exercised caution. You can’t refuse to ‘play the game’ when you’re already inside it; you break out first, then create your own game. |

Streetinvestor2:For someone who claims to have integrity, you're just like everyone else after all - beclouded by emotional attachment to your origin. I don't want to believe that you haven't listened to the numerous recordings made by the subject. If you did and still have these opinions, then it's unfortunate. What his supporters like you are insinuating is that all those innocent folks unalived by his numerous 'orders' as supreme leader whose words are final, don't matter at all, or that perhaps they are mere collateral damage to whatever it is you guys want. Folks I know personally, lost a lot - including paying the ultimate price. All for what? No one gave them fair hearing. Perhaps they are lesser humans than you guys and your SL. That type of nation, when achieved, would be similar to North Korea and strongly opinionated folks like you would probably be the first victims, because such won't be tolerated. All over SM, when presented with facts, you guys threaten to unalive instead of engage - portraying what you all learnt from your SL. Nigeria is just a kakistocracy and we deserve the leaders we have. |

Streetinvestor2:I really care about you bro because you contribute a lot to this thread. But you are filled with so much negativity recently. It good to be optimistic. Let me drop a Quote I saw from Elon Musk recently. 'It’s better to live life erring on the side of being optimistic and wrong than pessimistic and right.” He’s not saying ignore reality — he’s saying pessimism kills action. When you expect the worst, you stop trying, you stop building, and nothing improves. Nigeria definitely has problems, nobody is denying that. But choosing constant pessimism won’t fix a single one of them. Progress only comes from people who still believe improvement is possible, even when things look tough. Being optimistic about Nigeria doesn’t mean pretending everything is perfect — it means believing things can get better and being willing to push in that direction. As Musk likes to say: the future should be something you look forward to. If we keep choosing pessimism, nothing changes. If we choose realistic optimism, we create space for solutions. |

Itzlinda:If musk lived in nigeria for like 50 yrs and more.He had hoped for better nigeria over this yrs and present government has come to make it worst his quote will change..lol Economic happenings is not about hope and prayer even as a Christian. If it is so many countries won't be doing better than nigeria. It is about actions u take. It is a simple Economic fact that a disgraced economy can never produce a prosperous ngx. Is the ngx not a subset of the economy again or is it isolated Pls don't forget that my ngx analysis has been centered mainly on what I see on the street and part of FA.So it has not changed. Is the street green and nobody here is taking up the PO and RI of fundamental sound companies. I don't get carried away for people who are here doing jijo to feed and pay bills therefore they see my post as evil |
